Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis representasi kekerasan dalam film "King Arthur: Legend of The Sword" melalui kerangka teori Willem Schinkel, dengan fokus pada konsep kekerasan sebagai reduksi keberadaan dan Trias Violentiae yang mencakup dimensi kekerasan privat, struktural, dan negara. Melalui analisis tekstual yang mendalam, studi ini mengategorikan adegan-adegan kekerasan dalam spektrum kekerasan yang bersifat produktif dan destruktif, sambil mengeksplorasi pengaruhnya terhadap perkembangan naratif. Temuan penelitian ini mengungkap bahwa manifestasi kekerasan dalam film tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai elemen destruktif, tetapi juga menjadi kekuatan konstruktif yang memperkaya pengembangan karakter dan alur cerita. Hasil ini menegaskan fleksibilitas kerangka teori Schinkel dalam memahami kekerasan sebagai proses yang dinamis dan berkelanjutan, serta memberikan perspektif baru dalam kajian kekerasan dalam media visual naratif.

English Abstract

This research examines the representation of violence in the film "King Arthur: Legend of The Sword" through the theoretical lens of Willem Schinkel, focusing on the concepts of violence as reduction of being and Trias Violentiae, which encompass the dimensions of private, structural, and state violence. Through meticulous textual analysis, this study categorizes scenes of violence within a spectrum of productive and destructive violence while exploring their influence on narrative development. The findings reveal that the manifestation of violence in the film does not merely function as a destructive element but also serves as a constructive force that enriches character development and storyline progression. These results affirm the flexibility of Schinkel's theoretical framework in understanding violence as a dynamic and continuous process, providing new perspectives in the study of violence in narrative visual media.
