Abstract

Kanker merupakan salah satu penyakit paling umum yang menyebabkan kematian di seluruh dunia. Salah satu tatalaksana untuk mengatasi penyakit kanker adalah kemoterapi. Regimen kemoterapi yang cukup kompleks sering kali menjadi alasan ketidakpatuhan pasien kanker dalam menjalani kemoterapi. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi kepatuhan adalah faktor pengetahuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan tingkat pengetahuan tentang kemoterapi terhadap kepatuhan menjalani kemoterapi pada pasien kanker di Rumah Sakit Lavalette Malang. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional yang diikuti oleh 107 responden yang merupakan pasien kanker yang menjalani kemoterapi di Rumah Sakit Lavalette Malang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah Leuven questionnaire on patient knowledge on chemotherapy (L-PaKC) untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat pengetahuan pasien kanker tentang kemoterapi dan metode Medication Possession Ratio (MPR) untuk mengukur kepatuhan. Uji hubungan pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode uji Spearman Rank. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa 94,8% responden memiliki tingkat pengetahuan yang baik tentang kemoterapi dan 95,9% responden teridentifikasi patuh menjalani kemoetrapi di Rumah Sakit Lavalette Malang. Hasil analisis data bivariat dapatkan p-value 0,000 dan nilai koefisien korelasi 0,655 yang dapat diartikan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang cukup kuat antara tingkat pengetahuan tentang kemoterapi terhadap kepatuhan menjalani kemoterapi pada pasien kanker di Rumah Sakit Lavalette Malang. Hal ini dikarenakan pengetahuan yang lebih baik memungkinkan pasien memahami tujuan dan manfaat serta proses kemoterapi, termasuk pentingnya menepati jadwal yang telah diatur dan strategi mengelola efek samping, sehingga pasien lebih terinspirasi untuk patuh terhadap anjuran dokter dan tenaga kesehatan lainnya. Dengan demikian diharapkan pada penelitian selanjutnya untuk mengidentifikasi faktor lain yang dapat mempengaruhi kepatuhan pasien kanker dalam menjalani kemoterapi.

English Abstract

Cancer is one of the most common diseases that cause death in the world. One of the treatments to manage cancer is chemotherapy. Chemotherapy regimens that are quite complex are often the reason for non-compliance of cancer patients in undergoing chemotherapy. One of the factors that influence compliance is the knowledge factor. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge about chemotherapy and compliance with chemotherapy in cancer patients in the Lavalette Hospital Malang. This research design used quantitative methods with a cross-sectional approach followed by 97 respondents who were cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy in the Lavalette Hospital Malang. The research instruments used were Leuven questionnaire on patient knowledge on chemotherapy (L-PaKC) to identify the level of knowledge of cancer patients about chemotherapy and Medication Possession Ratio (MPR) method to measure compliance. The relationship test in this study used the Spearman test method. The results also showed that 94.8% of respondents had a good level of knowledge about chemotherapy and 95.9% of respondents were identified as obedient to undergo chemotherapy at Lavalette Hospital Malang. The results of bivariate data analysis obtained a p-value of 0.000 and a correlation coefficient value of 0.655 which can be interpreted that there is a fairly strong relationship between the level of knowledge about chemotherapy on compliance with chemotherapy in cancer patients in the Lavalette Hospital Malang. This is because better knowledge allows patients to understand the goals and benefits and process of chemotherapy, including the importance of adhering to the schedule that has been set and strategies for managing side effects, so that patients are more inspired to comply with the recommendations of doctors and other health workers. Hopefully, future research will identify other factors that can influence the compliance of cancer patients in undergoing chemotherapy.
