Abstract

Depresi postpartum merupakan gangguan psikologis serius yang mempengaruhi perilaku, kesehatan fisik dan mental ibu yang baru melahirkan bayinya. Kondisi depresi postpartum dapat mempengaruhi produksi ASI ibu, sehingga ibu dengan depresi postpartum akan kesulitan dalam memberikan ASI secara optimal kepada bayinya yang berada di NICU. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kondisi depresi postpartum ibu terhadap pemberian dan produksi ASI di ruang NICU RSSA Jawa Timur. Penelitian ini akan menerapkan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan analitik observasional jenis cross sectional. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 44 responden yang merupakan ibu dari bayi yang di rawat di NICU RSSA Jawa Timur. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang diterapkan adalah purposive sampling dengan memperhatikan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Penilaian depresi postpartum pada ibu menggunakan kuesioner Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) dan lembar observasi untuk menilai pemberian dan produksi ASI. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menggunakan Fisher Exact Tests didapatkan p-value untuk hubungan depresi postpartum terhadap pemberian ASI yaitu sebesar 0.683 (> 0,05) dan hubungan depresi postpartum terhadap volume ASI yaitu sebesar 0.009 (< 0,05). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara depresi postpartum dengan pemberian ASI di NICU, namun terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara depresi postpartum dengan volume ASI yang diberikan oleh ibu pada bayi yang dirawat di NICU RSSA Jawa Timur. Penelitian selanjutnya perlu mengkaji faktor lain yang mungkin berkorelasi dengan pemberian ASI pada bayi di NICU

English Abstract

Postpartum depression is a serious psychological disorder that affected the behavior, physical health, and mental well-being of mothers who have recently given birth. This condition can impact breast milk production, making it challenging for mothers with postpartum depression to optimally provide breast milk to their babies in the NICU. This study aimed to examine the correlation between postpartum depression in mothers and breastfeeding as well as breast milk production in the NICU of RSSA, East Java. The research employed a quantitative method with an analytical observational approach using a cross-sectional design. The study involved 44 respondents, who were mothers of infants treated in the NICU of RSSA, East Java. A purposive sampling technique was used, considering inclusion and exclusion criteria. Postpartum depression was assessed using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) questionnaire, and observation sheets were used to evaluate breastfeeding and milk production. Based on the results of data analysis using Fisher's Exact Test, the p-value for the correlation between postpartum depression and breastfeeding was 0.683 (> 0.05), while pvalue for the correlation between postpartum depression and breast milk volume was 0.009 (< 0.05). These findings indicated that there was no significant relationship between postpartum depression and breastfeeding in the NICU. However, there was a significant relationship between postpartum depression and the volume of breast milk provided by mothers to their babies in the NICU at RSSA, East Java. Future studies should examine other factors that may correlate with breastfeeding among NICU infants.
