Abstract

Kumpulan cerpen “Mimpi Gadis Pasir” ditulis untuk menyampaikan berbagai pertanyaan, kegelisahan atau keresahan atas berbagai tabiat, norma, dan dogma di masyarakat. Meskipun tampak mudah, membuat cerpen pada praktiknya memiliki tantangannya sendiri. Penulis harus memiliki kemampuan untuk fokus pada tujuan cerita. Pesan atau makna yang hendak disampaikan secara utuh juga harus tuntas dalam durasi pendek. Sepuluh cerpen dalam buku ini membawa berbagai isu-isu sosial yang kerap dijumpai dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, mulai dari kepercayaan terhadap tradisi lokal, ketidakadilan gender, ketimpangan sosial maupun ekonomi, dan sebagainya.

English Abstract

The short story collection Whisper of The Sand was written to convey various questions, concerns, and anxieties about the behaviors, norms, and dogmas within society. While seemingly straightforward, writing short stories presents its own set of challenges. Authors must possess the ability to remain focused on the story’s purpose, ensuring that the message or meaning is conveyed comprehensively within a limited scope. The ten short stories in this collection explore a range of social issues commonly encountered in everyday life, including faith in local traditions, gender inequality, social and economic disparities, and more.
