Abstract
Penelitian etnografi ini mengamati lebih lanjut terkait dengan pilihan pekerjaan pemuda desa, khususnya pemuda Desa Madiredo, yang mana desa ini adalah sebuah desa yang terkenal dengan komoditas pertanianya, khususnya sayur dan apel. Pada masa sekarang pertanian aple mulai menunjukan kondisi penurunan yang sangat tinggi hal ini memicu munculnya pariwisata yang menjadi pilihan baru anak muda Madiredo. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa, pilihan pekerjaan pemuda Madiredo dipengaruhi oleh kelas sosial masyarakat petani yang ada, dimana petani kaya cenderung bisa mendiversifikasi moda produksi ke sektor lain yaitu pariwisata.. Anak petani kecil cenderung hanya tidak mempunyai modal untuk meningkatkan moda produksi yang lain, sehingga mereka memilih untuk bertani. Kelas sosial petani juga sangat berpengaruh dalm membuat gaya hidup dan pola pikir pemudanya.
English Abstract
This ethnographic study further examines the employment choices of rural youth, specifically the youth of Madiredo Village, a village known for its agricultural commodities, particularly vegetables and apples. Currently, apple farming is showing a significant decline, which has led to the emergence of tourism as a new option for the youth of Madiredo. The findings of this study explain that the employment choices of the youth in Madiredo are influenced by the social class of the farming community, where wealthy farmers tend to diversify their modes of production into other sectors, such as tourism. Children of smallscale farmers, on the other hand, often lack the capital to invest in other modes of production, thus they choose to continue farming. The social class of farmers also greatly affects the lifestyle and mindset of their youth.
