Abstract
Problematic internet use pada remaja adalah kegiatan menggunakan internet oleh remaja yang berlebihan yang dapat menimbulkan ketergantungan, mengganggu fungsi fisik, sosial, dan masalah kejiwaan yang salah satunya risiko bunuh diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan problematic internet use dengan risiko bunuh diri pada remaja sekolah menengah atas. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua kuesioner yaitu kuesioner untuk mengukur problematic internet use menggunakan Problematic Internet Use Questionnaire (PIUQ) serta kuesioner Suicidal Ideation Scale (SIS) untuk mengukur risiko bunuh diri. Sampel dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling didapatkan sampel sejumlah 289 remaja. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji Rank Spearmen dengan signifikansi p value < 0,05. Hasil penelitian didapatkan koefisien korelasi 0,156 dengan signifikansi 0,008 yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang sangat lemah antara problematic internet use dengan risiko bunuh diri pada remaja sekolah menengah atas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disumpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan problematic internet use dengan risiko bunuh diri pada remaja. Pencegahan problematic internet use perlu dilakukan pada remaja untuk mencegah agar tidak menyebabkan risiko bunuh diri melalui pendidikan dan konseling mengenai dampak penggunaan internet yang berlebihan pada remaja.
English Abstract
Problematic internet use in adolescents is an activity of using the internet excessively by adolescents that can cause dependence, disrupt physical and social functions, and mental problems, one of which is the risk of suicide. This study aims to analyze the relationship between problematic internet use and the risk of suicide in high school adolescents. The design of this study used descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional approach. This study used two questionnaires, namely a questionnaire to measure problematic internet use using the Problematic Internet Use Questionnaire (PIUQ) and a questionnaire Suicidal Ideation Scale (SIS) to measure the risk of suicide. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, obtaining a sample of 289 adolescents. Data analysis of this study used the Spearman Rank test with a significance of p value <0.05. The results of the study obtained a correlation coefficient of 0.156 with a significance of 0.008 which indicated that there was a very weak positive relationship between problematic internet use and the risk of suicide in high school adolescents. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between problematic internet use and the risk of suicide in adolescents. Prevention of problematic internet use needs to be carried out in adolescents to prevent it from causing the risk of suicide through education and counseling regarding the impact of excessive internet use on adolescents.
