Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis wacana yang disebarkan oleh Komunitas Lyfe With Less melalui konten website dan media sosial Instagram yakni sebagai media yang masih aktif mengunggah konten gerakan gaya hidup minimalis. Elemen konten yang dianalisis adalah teks, gambar, dan simbol yang diunggah oleh komunitas. Peneliti menggunakan definisi konseptual dari minimalisme dan media, serta pisau analisis dari Teori Relasi Kuasa Foucault dengan panduan metode Critical Discourse Analys (CDA) Michel Foucault yang dikembangkan oleh Jean Carabine (2001). Hasil penelitian menjelaskan menunjukkan bahwa wacana yang dimunculkan komunitas berawal dari permasalahan pola konsumsi masyarakat Indonesia cenderung tidak memperhatikan kelestarian lingkungan, sehingga pendiri komunitas tergerak untuk mendirikan komunitas gaya hidup minimalis. Kemudian, wacana yang dijelaskan dalam konten komunitas adalah gaya hidup minimalis dapat diadopsi dan diimplementasikan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari melalui penerapan nilai-nilai minimalisme terhadap pola pikir dan perilaku. Pegiat gaya hidup minimalis dapat menyesuaikan adaptasi gaya hidup melalui kegiatan sehari-hari dengan pola konsumsi yang bijak secara bertahap dan berkelanjutan. Komunitas Lyfe With Less terbukti efektif menyebarkan pengetahuan terkait gaya hidup minimalis melalui konten-konten yang dibuat melalui website dan media sosial Instagram dengan memunculkan perlawanan terhadap konsumerisme dan materialisme.
English Abstract
This research aims to analyze the discourse disseminated by the Lyfe With Less Community through website content and Instagram social media as a medium that is still actively uploading minimalist lifestyle movement content. The content elements analyzed are texts, images, and symbols uploaded by the community. The researcher used conceptual definitions of minimalism and media, as well as an analysis knife from Foucault's Power Relations Theory with the guidance of Michel Foucault's Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) method developed by Jean Carabine (2001). The results of the research explained show that the discourse raised by the community originated from the problem of consumption patterns of Indonesian society tending not to pay attention to environmental sustainability, so the founder of the community was moved to establish a minimalist lifestyle community. Then, the discourse described in the community content is that the minimalist lifestyle can be adopted and implemented in everyday life through the application of minimalism values to mindset and behavior. Minimalist lifestyle activists can adjust lifestyle adaptations through daily activities with wise consumption patterns gradually and sustainably. The Lyfe With Less community has proven to be effective in spreading knowledge related to the minimalist lifestyle through content created through the website and Instagram social media by raising resistance to consumerism and materialism.
