Abstract
Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana representasi kemiskinan dalam tiga konten video di kanal YouTube Baim Paula serta menganalisis tanda semiotika denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos yang terkandung di dalamnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami representasi kemiskinan dan pemaknaan semiotika terkait kemiskinan dalam kontenkonten tersebut. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah paradigma konstruktivis dengan metode kualitatif dan analisis data menggunakan model semiotika Roland Barthes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya unsur representasi kemiskinan absolut dalam kategori sandang, papan, dan pangan dalam tiga konten video yang dianalisis, dengan pemaknaan denotatif, konotatif, dan mitos yang memperkaya pemahaman tentang kemiskinan yang ditampilkan di kanal YouTube Baim Paula
English Abstract
This study examines the representation of poverty in three videos on the Baim Paula YouTube channel and analyzes the semiotic signs of denotation, connotation, and myth contained within them. The aim of this research is to understand the representation of poverty and the semiotic meanings related to poverty in these videos. The approach used in this research is the constructivist paradigm with a qualitative method and data analysis using Roland Barthes' semiotic model. The results of the study show elements of absolute poverty representation in the categories of clothing, housing, and food in the three analyzed videos, with denotative, connotative, and mythic meanings enriching the understanding of poverty presented on the Baim Paula YouTube channel
