Abstract

English Abstract

Today’s workplace has gone many significant changes due to advancing technology, economic shifts, and social changes. Examples of these changes include work from home (WFH), online communication platforms for work, employee layoffs, and machine and computer automation. The skill to adapt to new rules, new protocol, new style of work are must owned skills for the employees which is performance adaptive (Charbonnier-Voirin & Roussel, 2012). According to several studies, personality can affect the adaptive performance of employees. This study aims to find connection between adaptive performance and big five personality. This study used quantitative correlational study with 136 employees. There are 65 (47.85%) male participants and 71 (52.25%) female participants. The participants were collected with convenience sampling technique. The variables were measured with Adaptive Performance Scale by Charbonnier-Voirin dan Roussel (2012) and The Big Five Inventory (BFI) was developed and adapted to Bahasa Indonesia by Ramdhani (2012). Analyzing the data was done with Multiple Regression Analysis. The study found there are significant positive connection between neuroticism, extraversion, conscientiousness, and openness with adaptive performance within employees. Meanwhile, agreeableness was not able to predict adaptive performance. From the results, companies or employers can see the potential of their employees' abilities to adapt to different situations through their personalities.
