Abstract
Keseimbangan antara pekerjaan dan kehidupan (work-life balance) kini menjadi fokus penelitian di dunia kerja modern. Manajemen waktu (time management) merupakan faktor penting untuk mencapai keseimbangan antara pekerjaan dan kehidupan pribadi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara time management dan work-life balance pada karyawan perusahaan swasta. Pengambilan sampel penelitian menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan subjek penelitian seluruh karyawan perusahaan swasta di seluruh Indonesia. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji korelasi Pearson. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua skala pengukuran, yaitu Time Management Questionnaire untuk mengukur variabel Time Management dan Work-Life Balance Scale untuk mengukur variable Work-life Balance. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan pada 137 karyawan perusahaan swasta menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara time management dengan work-life balance dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar -0.26. Hasil penelitian ini memiliki hubungan negatif yang lemah, sehingga semakin tinggi time management maka akan semakin rendah work-life balance. Time management yang baik sering dianggap sebagai cara untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan keseimbangan hidup, dalam konteks penelitian ini, semakin baik seseorang mengelola waktunya, tingkat work-life balance responden justru menurun.
English Abstract
Work-life balance is now the focus of research in the modern workplace. Time management is an important factor in achieving balance between work and personal life. This study aims to examine the relationship between time management and work-life balance in private company employees. The research sample was taken using the Purposive non-sampling method with research subjects being all private company employees throughout Indonesia. This study uses normality tests and linearity tests to test assumptions, and the data analysis technique used is the Pearson correlation test. This study uses two measurement scales, namely the Time Management Questionnaire to measure the Time Management variable and the Work-Life Balance Scale to measure the Work-life Balance variable. The results of the study conducted on 137 private company employees showed that there was a significant relationship between time management and work-life balance with a correlation coefficient of -0.26. The results of this study have a weak negative relationship, so that the higher the time management, the lower the work-life balance. Good time management is often considered a way to increase productivity and life balance, in the context of this study, the better someone manages their time, the level of respondent's work-life balance actually decreases.
