Abstract
Faktor 1, Jenis seresah: (1) Mix seresah Pinus + Kopi (BMP) (2) Mix seresah Pinus + Alpukat + Lemon + Sayur (PALS), (3) Mix Pinus + Pisang (PPS), dan (4) seresah Kubis saja (TMS). Faktor 2, Sistem penggunaan lahan: (1) Plot Mix BMP, (2) Plot Mix PALS, (3) Plot Mix PPS, (4) Plot monokultur TMS.
English Abstract
Agroforestry is widely developed in Indonesia because of its economic benefits for the community, social benefits, ecology and cultural conservation. The Natural Resource Conservation Business Pilot Unit (UP - UPSA) program was developed as a medium for extension to increase public understanding and participation in natural resource conservation and soil and water conservation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the decomposition rate of various types of litter in various different land uses. This study was conducted from February to May 2024 in UP – UPSA plot (in UB Forest area), in Tawang Argo Village, Karangploso District, Malang Regency. The treatments tested were arranged according to a Randomized Block Design (RAK), with 2 factors tested. Factor 1, Type of litter: (1) Mix Pine + coffe (BMP), (2) Mix of Pine litter + avocado + lemon + vegetables (PALS) , (3) Mix Pine + banana (PPS), and (4) Cabbage litter only (TMS). Factor 2, Land use system: (1) BMP Mix Plot, (2) PALS Mix Plot, (3) PPS Mix Plot, (4) TMS monoculture plot. Observation of decomposition rate was conducted according to the TSBF (Tropical Soil Biology and Fertility) method, based on the weight loss of the tested litter mass per observation time (weeks 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12). Litter samples were inserted into 30 x 25 x 2 cm3 litter bags. The variables observed were the decrease in litter mass per observation time, microclimate (soil temperature, air temperature, soil moisture, canopy), while litter quality (C-organic, total N, C/N ratio, lignin, polyphenols) were analyzed prior the experiment.
