Abstract
English Abstract
Maintaining diverse litter inputs is essential to maintain higher microbial carbon biomass (MBC) which is one of the biological indicators of soil health of a land use system. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the soil health level of various land use systems (LUS) using soil MBC parameters as an indicator. This research was conducted in the Universitas Brawijaya Educational Forest (UB Forest), at the UP UPSA (Natural Resource Conservation Business Pilot Unit) and surrounding land, in Sumbersari Hamlet, Tawang Argo Village, Karangploso District, Malang Regency, East Java Province. The research was conducted in January-June 2024. Soil sampling was carried out at a soil depth of 0-10 cm in various LUS’s, namely: BMP = Pine + Coffee Agroforestry with Best Management Practices, PIKO = Pine + Coffee Agroforestry, PALS = Pine + Avocado+Lemon+Vegetable Agroforestry, PPS = Pine+Banana Agroforestry, TMS = Annual Vegetable Crops. Measurement of MBC concentration using the fumigation extraction method. Statistical analysis of the data obtained using Rstudio software, where the data was first tested for normality. Further Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was carried out, Duncan's test at 5% level, and correlationregression test of standing litter data with MBC and MBC data with soil organic C (Corg/Cref).
