Abstract
Karakter fiksi dalam karya fiksi sering kali dibangun berdasarkan sifat-sifat manusia nyata, dan tidak jarang karakter fiksi mengalami perkembangan dalam hal kepribadian sepanjang cerita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi perkembangan kepribadian Sterling Wesley dari serial Netflix Teenage Bounty Hunters (2020). Metodologi kualitatif digunakan untuk melakukan penelitian ini. Data penelitian ini adalah dialog dan cuplikan adegan dari serial tersebut. Teori perkembangan kepribadian oleh Wiebke Bleidorn, Christopher J. Hopwood, dan Richard E. Lucas (2016) digunakan untuk menganalisis data yang dikumpulkan. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa kepribadian Sterling Wesley mengalami perkembangan. Perkembangan ini dipengaruhi oleh peristiwa kehidupan yang terjadi dalam kehidupan karakter tersebut. Penelitian ini juga meneliti bagaimana peristiwa kehidupan tertentu yang terjadi dalam kehidupan Sterling Wesley berkontribusi terhadap perkembangan kepribadian karakter tersebut.
English Abstract
Fictional character from fictional work is build based on real-life human beings’ traits and it is not uncommon for fictional character to undergo development in terms of personality across the story. This research aims to explore the personality development of Sterling Wesley from Netflix series Teenage Bounty Hunters (2020). A qualitative methodology was utilized to conduct this research. The research data are the dialogues and cut scenes from the said series Wiebke Bleidorn, Christopher J. Hopwood, and Richard E. Lucas (2016) personality development theory was employed to analyze the collected data. The analysis found that the Sterling Wesley's personality undergoes significant development in the series. This development is influenced by life events that occurred in the character’s life. This research also examines how are particular life events that occurred in Sterling Wesley’s life contribute to the development of the character’s personality
