Abstract
Inclusive Design merupakan metodologi yang memperhatikan keberagaman manusia. Terdapat tiga macam keterbatasan pendengaran menurut inclusive design yaitu temporary, situational, dan permanent. Universitas Brawijaya merupakan salah satu universitas yang menerima mahasiswa disabilitas. Dengan mahasiswa disabilitas mencapai 240 mahasiswa dengan 95 mahasiswa aktif yaitu sebesar 42,1% dari mahasiswa disabilitas. Aksesibilitas dalam pendidikan merupakan tantangan signifikan bagi mahasiswa dengan keterbatasan pendengaran. Dengan semakin berkembangnya pembelajaran berbasis video, penting untuk mengevaluasi bagaimana fitur aksesibilitas seperti caption, transcript, dan bahasa isyarat mempengaruhi efektivitas dan efisiensi proses pembelajaran bagi mahasiswa yang mengalami gangguan pendengaran. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan fitur caption, transcript, dan bahasa isyarat secara signifikan meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi pembelajaran. Tingkat keberhasilan tugas rata-rata mencapai 96% menurut standar ukuran efektifitas yaitu “Sangat Efektif”, menunjukkan efektivitas fitur aksesibilitas dalam mendukung pembelajaran. Waktu penyelesaian tugas berada dalam kategori "Cepat," dan analisis pretest-posttest menunjukkan peningkatan kognitif yang signifikan setelah penggunaan fitur aksesibilitas. Wawancara mengungkapkan bahwa kombinasi ketiga fitur memberikan manfaat paling besar dalam pemahaman materi, meskipun terdapat beberapa tantangan seperti focus yang dapat terbagi. Fitur aksesibilitas seperti caption, transcript, dan bahasa isyarat sangat berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan efektivitas dan efisiensi pembelajaran bagi mahasiswa dengan keterbatasan pendengaran
English Abstract
Inclusive Design is a methodology that takes into account human diversity. There are three types of hearing limitations according to inclusive design, namely temporary, situational, and permanent. Brawijaya University is one of the universities that accepts students with disabilities. With 240 students with disabilities, there are 95 active students, which is 42.1% of students with disabilities. Accessibility in education is a significant challenge for students with hearing impairments. With the development of video-based learning, it is important to evaluate how accessibility features such as captions, transcript, and sign language affect the effectiveness and efficiency of the learning process for students with hearing impairment. The research shows that the implementation of caption, transcript and sign language features significantly improves the effectiveness and efficiency of learning. The average task success rate reached 96% according to the effectiveness measure standard of “Highly Effective”, showing the effectiveness of accessibility features in supporting learning. Task completion time was in the category of “Fast,” and pretest-posttest analysis showed significant cognitive improvement after the use of accessibility features. Interviews revealed that the combination of the three features provided the most benefit in understanding the material, despite some challenges such as divided focus. Accessibility features such as captions, transcript, and sign language greatly contribute to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of learning for students with hearing impairments
