Abstract
Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Tulungrejo Kecamatan Ngantang Kabupaten Malang pada tanggal 7 Januari sampai 11 Pebruari 2007. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan tepung kunyit (Curcuma domestica) pada ransum terhadap konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan pada ayam pedaging periode starter. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai tambahan informasi dan bahan pertimbangan untuk penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai penambahan tepung kunyit (Curcuma domestica) dalam ransum untuk mendapatkan konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan ayam pedaging yang optimal. Materi penelitian menggunakan DOC ayam pedaging betina umur 1 hari sebanyak 75 ekor dengan bobot awal 37.88 ± 2.49 gram dan koefisien keragaman sebesar 6.58%. Metode penelitian adalah percobaan yang dirancang dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari lima perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah penambahan tepung kunyit (Curcuma < domestica) dalam 1 kilogram pakan, yaitu P0: Penambahan tepung kunyit 0 gram (0%), PI: Penambahan tepung kunyit 2.5 gram (0,25%), P2: Penambahan tepung kunyit 5 gram (0,5%), P3: Penambahan tepung kunyit 7.5 gram (0,75%) dan P4: Penambahan tepung kunyit 10 gram (1%). Variabel yang diamati meliputi konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan sidik ragam, dan jika terdapat perbedaan yang nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan.
English Abstract
Research was held on 7 January 7- 11 February 11 2007 at Tulungrejo, Ngantang, Malang. The research purpose was to study the effects the Curcuma domestica addition on broiler feeding to at starter period including the feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion. Materials of this research were 75 DOC female, coefficient of body mass variety was 6,58 % and the instial weight was 37,88 ± 2,49 gram. The treatment ware Curcuma domestica dose of 1 kilogram feed including P0 (mash Curcuma domestica 0 gram), PI (mash Curcuma domestica 2,5 gram), P2 (mash Curcuma domestica 5 gram ), P3 (mash Curcuma domestica 7,5 gram) and P4 (mash Curcuma domestica 10 gram). The variables observed were feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion. The result showed that the effects of mash Curcuma domestica in broiler feeding during the observation had significant different effect (P<0,05) on feed consumption and feed conversion, and highly significant differences effect (P<0,01) on body weight gain. Average feed consumption during by observation P0 (11560.25 ± 86.20), PI (1624.26 ± 45.90), P2 (1641.89 ± 95.17), P3 (11670.12 ± 72.27) and P4 (1716.98 ± 55.06). The average body weight during by observation P0 (1018.93 ± 22.15), PI (1068.33 ± 43.53), P2 (1178.43 ± 71.16), P3 (1188.43 ± 61.53) and P4 (1209.66 ± 61.02). The average feed conversion during by observation P0 (1.53 ± 0.06), PI (1.52 ± 0.08), P2 (1.42 ± 0.07), P3 (1.41 ± 0.07) and P4 (1.42 ± 0.07). The conclusion of research that of Curcuma domestica addition increased feed consumption and body weight gain, improved feed conversion. It was suggested that Curcuma domestica addition on the broiler was effective by feeding doses of (10 gram) per kilogram feeding.
