Abstract

English Abstract

Water pollution, especially river pollution, is now a serious problem that must be addressed. One of the tributaries of the Lamongan river, known as the Kaliotik, is showing signs of being polluted. Pollutants entering the river bed continue to increase, causing water quality to continue to decline. The incoming pollutants come from domestic waste, fish markets and agriculture. Efforts need to be made to carry out rehabilitation to improve water quality. The objectives of this research are (i) to analyze the distribution of water quality pollution zones; (ii) analyzing bacterial isolates and consortia that are capable of degrading LAS, ammonia and phospat compounds; (iii) recommend the application of microbial consortia in rehabilitating the Kaliotic river. The type of research used in this research is quantitative descriptive analysis with a true experimental time series pre-test post test design research design. Analysis of water quality contamination zones is carried out through biotlic index and self-purification. Analysis of pollutant degrading bacterial isolates and consortia through screening and identification of bacterial 16sRNA, as well as analysis of the ability of microbial isolates to degrade pollutant compounds with inhibition zones The results of this research are (i) the distribution of Kaliotic river water quality pollution zones shows that it is heavily polluted with a pollutant index value of 2.74; (ii) bacterial isolates and consortia that have the ability to degrade LAS, ammonia and phospat in the Kaliotic river, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Nitrobacter vulgaris and Bacilus cereus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa is able to degrade LAS by 64,73%, Nitrobacter vulgaris is able to degrade ammonia by 62,89% and Bacilus cereus was able to degrade phosphate by 90,96%; (iii) application of the microbial consortium as rehabilitation of Kaliotic river water in the form of a microbial suspension with a percentage of 2.5% in 500 ml of waste water for 28 days
