Abstract

Tenaga kependidikan merupakan pendukung penting dalam pelaksanaan proses pendidikan di lingkungan perguruan tinggi. Maka dari itu, kinerja yang baik sangat krusial untuk dimiliki oleh tenaga kependidikan di universitas, tak terkecuali tenaga kependidikan di lingkungan Universitas Brawijaya. Namun, berdasarkan penggalian data awal dengan menggunakan kuesioner terbuka pada tenaga kependidikan Universitas Brawijaya, ditemukan bahwa sarana kerja yang memadai bagi tenaga kependidikan masih kurang untuk mendorong produktivitas kinerja. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa tenaga kependidikan Universitas Brawijaya mengharapkan adanya peningkatan sarana kerja serta peningkatan dukungan kerja guna menunjang kinerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara work engagement dengan kinerja pada tenaga kependidikan Universitas Brawijaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh tenaga kependidikan di lingkungan Universitas Brawijaya. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah teknik accidental sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 82 subjek. Pengambilan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-17) untuk variabel work engagement dan Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ) untuk variabel kinerja. Uji statistika yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah uji Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation dengan menggunakan software SPSS 27.0. Dalam penelitian ini, didapatkan Hasil bahwa terdapat korelasi negatif dan signifikan antara work engagement dengan kinerja pada tenaga kependidikan Universitas Brawijaya yang berarti bahwa semakin tinggi work engagement maka semakin rendah kinerja begitu pula sebaliknya.

English Abstract

Educational support staff are crucial in the implementation of the educational process within higher education institutions. Therefore, good performance is essential for the support staff at universities, including those at Universitas Brawijaya. However, based on preliminary data gathered using an open-ended questionnaire for the support staff at Universitas Brawijaya, it was found that the available work facilities for the support staff are still insufficient to encourage performance productivity. Additionally, it was found that the support staff at Universitas Brawijaya expect improvements in work facilities and increased work support to enhance performance. This study aims to determine the relationship between work engagement and performance among the support staff at Universitas Brawijaya. The study employs a correlational quantitative design to identify the existence of a relationship between work engagement and performance among the support staff at Universitas Brawijaya. The population in this study includes all support staff within Universitas Brawijaya. The sampling technique used in this study is accidental sampling, with a total sample of 82 subjects. Data collection in this study utilizes the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-17) for the work engagement variable and the Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ) for the performance variable. The statistical test conducted in this study is Pearson's Product Moment Correlation using SPSS software version 27.0. The results of this study indicate a negative and significant correlation between work engagement and performance among the support staff at Universitas Brawijaya, meaning that higher work engagement is associated with lower performance and vice versa.
