Abstract
Mahasiswa penyandang disabilitas netra dalam menjalani perkuliahan masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan yang dapat memengaruhi kesehatan mental sampai tingkat psychological well-being tergolong rendah sehingga dibutuhkan ketrampilan dalam meregulasi emosi melalui proses kognitif. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan penggunaan strategi cognitive emotion regulation dengan psychological well-being mahasiswa penyandang disabilitas netra. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional. Responden dari penelitian ini berjumlah 82 mahasiswa penyandang disabilitas netra yang didapatkan dengan metode accidental sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ) dan Psychological well-being scale shortened-version. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis korelasi multiple linear regression. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa adaptive dan maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation berkontribusi secara simultan terhadap psychological well-being dan mampu menjelaskan varians sebesar 43.9%. Di samping itu, adaptive cognitive emotion regulation juga ditemukan secara signifikan memberi peran positif secara parsial terhadap psychological well-being. Hasil penelitian ini kemudian dapat digunakan sebagai pertimbangan dalam pemilihan penggunaan strategi regulasi emosi secara kognitif yang lebih adaptif pada mahasiswa penyandang disabilitas netra
English Abstract
Students with visual disabilities in undergoing lectures still face various challenges that can affect mental health until the level of psychological wellbeing is low so that skills are needed in regulating emotions through cognitive processes. Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between the use of cognitive emotion regulation strategies and psychological wellbeing of students with visual disabilities. This study uses a correlational quantitative method. Respondents of this study amounted to 82 students with visual disabilities obtained by accidental sampling method. Measuring instruments used Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ) and Psychological well-being scale shortened-version. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression correlation analysis. The results of the analysis showed that adaptive and maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation contributed simultaneously to psychological well-being and were able to explain 43.9% of the variance. In addition, adaptive cognitive emotion regulation was also found to significantly give a partial positive role to psychological well-being. The results of this study can then be used as a consideration in choosing the use of cognitive emotion regulation strategies that are more adaptive to students with visual disabilities.
