English Abstract
Postpartum Blues is common among women after giving birth, some people even think that this condition is normal after giving birth. In fact, if it is not treated immediately it can have a negative impact on the mother's physical and psychological condition, causing frustration, feelings of laziness in caring for the baby, severe insomnia and self-blame. Interestingly, there are some mothers who are able to adapt to the postpartum blues they experience so that they can carry out their duties and obligations as a mother should towards a baby. This research aims to determine the adjustment process of women who have experienced postpartum blues. This research method is a qualitative phenomenological approach with data collection techniques through interview and observation techniques. The number of research subjects was three women who had been diagnosed with postpartum blues using a selection technique using purposive sampling. The results of this research show that the three subjects were able to adapt to the postpartum blues they experienced, the subjects were able to control their emotions of anger and annoyance towards the baby, all three of whom had coping mechanisms that focused on problems and emotions. Apart from that, the ability to be optimistic helps the subject to direct himself in the process of adjusting to the postpartum blues situation. This is also related to the ability to interpret the problems that occur so that the subject has positive hopes that the postpartum blues situation will not happen again. On the other hand, this research provides an understanding that it is important for a woman to have knowledge in caring for a baby and have the support of a partner to be able to care for the baby with love and undergo the postpartum phase well.
