Ariyanti, Rizka Oktavia and Dr. Kuswantoro Rusca Putra, S.Kp., M.Kep (2024) Pengaruh Employee Engagement Dan Burnout Terhadap Penerapan Patient Safety Pada Perawat Di Rumah Sakit Wonolangan. Magister thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Hospitals are obliged to identify and prevent the risk of patient safety incidents and nursing is the most fundamental thing in implementing patient safety. Nurse performance is directly influenced by burnout and indirectly influenced by employee engagement. At Wonolangan Hospital there was an increase in patient safety incidents in 2023 with 93 incidents, compared to only 40 incidents in 2022. The aim of this research is to see the influence of burnout and employee engagement on the implementation of patient safety. This research uses a quantitative approach and cross sectional study. Data was collected using a Google Form questionnaire with a total of 92 nurses as respondents in June 2024. Employee engagement was measured using the UWES-17 instrument, burnout was measured using the MBHI-HSS (MP) instrument and patient safety was measured using the Modified Safety Care Activity Scale instrument. The measurement scale used is the Likert scale. Data analysis uses multiple linear regression. The results show that employee engagement has a positive and significant effect on the implementation of patient safety, burnout has a negative and significant effect on the implementation of patient safety, and employee engagement and burnout simultaneously have a significant effect on the implementation of patient safety. It can be concluded that the higher the level of employee engagement and the lower the level of burnout among nurses, the better the implementation of patient safety at Wonolangan Hospital.
