Abstract
Remaja akhir khususnya mahasiswa keperawatan yang berpotensi memiliki perilaku FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) dan phubbing behavior akan berdampak pada karakter di pelayanan kesehatan ketika sudah bekerja. FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) adalah kecemasan dan ketakutan jika tertinggal informasi melalui media sosial.
English Abstract
Late adolescents, especially nursing students who have the potential to have FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) and phubbing behavior will have an impact on their character in health services when they are working. FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) is anxiety and fear of being left behind in information through social media. FOMO influences phubbing behavior, which means ignoring someone when interacting as if looking at the person you are talking to, but in fact are too focused on their smartphone. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between FOMO and phubbing behavior in late adolescents. Quantitative research method with cross-sectional design. The population was 520 students, a sample of 85 people was taken using the simple random sampling technique. The research instrument consisted of two scales, namely the ON-FOMO Scale (18 items, α = 0.878.) and the Generic Scale Phubbing Scale (11 items, α = 0.805). FOMO is in the moderate category (52.9%) and phubbing behavior is in the very high category (64.7%). Spearman correlation analysis shows a positive/unidirectional and significant relationship between FOMO and phubbing behavior (r count = 0.694 with p = 0.00). The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between FOMO and phubbing behavior where the higher the FOMO, the higher the phubbing behavior, so it is recommended that late adolescents can control themselves in using smartphones to prevent FOMO and phubbing behavior
