Abstract

Webtoon merupakan media hiburan yang populer di Indonesia dengan menduduki peringkat ketiga sebagai negara dengan pengguna aktif terbanyak pada tahun 2023 menurut data riset Similarweb. Selain menyediakan cerita hiburan, komik pada Webtoon juga memuat beragam pesan dengan tujuan khusus yang ingin dicapai termasuk refleksi realitas sosial dalam masyarakat. Webtoon Seasons of Blossom merupakan Webtoon yang ditulis untuk merefleksikan realitas sosial perundungan sekolah yang banyak ditemui pada lingkungan masyarakat. Untuk itu, penelitian akan dilakukan menggunakan metode analisis isi kualitatif Krippendorff dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana realitas korban perundungan sekolah dalam aspek dinamika konsep diri dan komunikasi interpersonal digambarkan melalui karakterisasi tokoh dalam cerita Webtoon Seasons of Blossom Musim Bunga Dongchae. Temuan hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa refleksi korban perundungan sekolah digambarkan mengalami dinamika konsep diri dari yang bersifat negatif menjadi bersifat positif. Dinamika konsep diri pada karakter korban disertai pula dengan dinamika sosial yang dialami dalam bentuk dukungan sosial yang didapatkan melalui proses komunikasi interpersonal dengan keluarga dan teman sekolah. Temuan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penulis cerita menggunakan Webtoon Seasons of Blossom Musim Bunga Dongchae sebagai alat untuk merefleksikan perundungan sekolah melalui karakterisasi tokoh Dongchae dengan latar belakang serta perkembangan karakter yang telah disesuaikan dengan realitas korban perundungan sekolah sebenarnya pada masyarakat.

English Abstract

Webtoon is a popular entertainment media in Indonesia and is ranked third as the country with the most active users in 2023 according to Similarweb research data. Apart from providing entertainment stories, Webtoon comics also contain various messages with specific goals to be achieved, including reflections on social realities in society. Webtoon Seasons of Blossom is a webtoon written to reflect the social reality of school bullying which is often found in society. For this reason, research will be carried out using the Krippendorff qualitative content analysis method with the aim of finding out how the reality of victims of school bullying, especially in the dynamic aspects of self-concept and interpersonal communication, is depicted through the characterization of the characters in the webtoon story Seasons of Blossom Musim Bunga Dongchae. The findings of the analysis show that the reflections of victims of school bullying are described as experiencing a dynamic self-concept from negative to positive. The dynamics of self-concept in the victim's character are also accompanied by social dynamics experienced in the form of social support obtained through the process of interpersonal communication with family and school friends. These findings show that the story writer used the Dongchae Seasons of Blossom Webtoon as a tool to reflect on school bullying through the characterization of the Dongchae character with a background and character development that has been adapted to the reality of actual school bullying victims in society
