Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

Nilai pH seluruh sampel mengalami penurunan.

English Abstract

Empty palm oil bunches (TKKS) are the main waste from the palm oil processing industry. TKKS waste has its constituent components, namely materials rich in carbon elements, including 42.7% cellulose, 27.3% hemicellulose and 17.2% lignin. The EFB content which is rich in lignocellulose has the potential to be used as a raw material in the production of one type of biomass, namely biolipids. The advantage of biolipid products from microorganisms is that they have a short life cycle and do not require a large area of land for the production process. Lipid production can be influenced by several factors, namely temperature, pH, inducer and C/N ratio. The main factors used in the production of increased lipid yield are a carbon source such as sucrose and a nitrogen source such as yeast extract. This research was conducted using a Randomized Block Design (RAK) method which consisted of a two-factor experiment. The factors for adding sucrose and yeast extract each consist of 3 levels. In this research, several tests were carried out including Total Soluble Phenol (TSP), Total Reducing Sugar (TGR), pH, weight loss, lignocellulose and lipid yield. The research results showed that the lignin-degrading fungus Schizophyllum commune with the addition of sucrose and yeast extract was proven to be able to increase the yield of EFB lignocellulose degradation. The highest weight loss value of 29% was obtained from the addition of 30 g/L sucrose and 1 g/L yeast extract. The highest TGR value of 62 mg/g was obtained from the addition of 30 g/L sucrose and 0.5 g/L yeast extract. The highest TSP value was obtained from the addition of 0.23 mg/g TSP. The pH value of all samples decreased. The best treatment in this research, namely lipid yield, obtained the highest value of 2.75% with the addition of 30 g/L sucrose and 0.75 g/L yeast extract and this treatment was the best treatment. The highest lignin degradation content of 21.96% was obtained from the TKKS control sample
