Abstract

Keselamatan pasien merupakan masalah kesehatan masyarakat global yang serius yang banyak menyebabkan kematian akibat dari kesalahan medis. Di Indonesia, kejadian kesalahan penerapan keselamatan pasien juga masih ditemukan baik dari perawat maupun mahasiswa yang sedang berpraktik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kompetensi dengan penerapan keselamatan pasien pada mahasiswa profesi ners. Metode penelitian adalah analitik korelasioanal dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Responden penelitian terdiri dari 96 mahasiswa profesi ners di Jawa Timur. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur kompetensi adalah Health Professional Education in Patient Safety Survey (H-PEPSS) dan alat ukur penerapan keselamatan pasien adalah The safety Care Activity Scale. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kompetensi baik dan kurang sama besar sebanyak 48 responden (50%). Penerapan keselamatan pasien menunjukkan kategori baik sebanyak 50 responden (52,1%), dan penerapan keselamatan pasien kurang sebanyak 46 responden (47,9%). Hasil uji korelasi Spearman Rank menunjukkan p-value 0,000 dengan koefisien korelasi 0,608 yang artinya korelasi bersifat kuat dan searah. Kesimpulannya adalah terdapat hubungan antara kompetensi dengan penerapan keselamatan pasien, dimana semakin tinggi kompetensi maka semakin tinggi penerapan keselamatan pasien. Penting bagi mahasiswa untuk meningkatkan kompetensi dan penerapan keselamatan pasien dan bagi peneliti selanjutnya untuk melakukan penelitian dengan sampel yang lebih luas

English Abstract

Patient safety is a serious global public health problem that causes many deaths due to medical errors. In Indonesia, incidents of patient safety compliance errors are still found among both nurses and students who are practicing. This research aims to determine the relationship between competency and the implementation of patient safety in professional students. The research method is analytical correlation with a cross sectional approach. The research respondents consisted of 96 nursing professional students in East Java. The instrument used to measure competency is the Health Professional Education in Patient Safety Survey (H-PEPSS) and the standard patient safety measuring tool is The Safety Care Activity Scale. The results of the research showed that 48 respondents (50%) had good and poor competence. The implementation of patient safety showed a good category for 50 respondents (52,1%), and the implementation of patient safety was poor for 46 respondents (47,9%). The results of the Spearman Rank correlation test show a p-value of 0.000 with a correlation coefficient of 0.608, which means the correlation is strong and in the same direction. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between competency and the implementation of patient safety, where the higher the competency, the higher the implementation of patient safety. It is important for students to improve their competency and application of patient safety and for future researchers to conduct research with wider samples.
