Abstract

Pengetahuan perawatan kaki adalah salah satu faktor yang terlibat dalam proses perawatan diri. Pengetahuan dan perawatan kaki memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam pencegahan ulkus kaki diabetik dan juga dapat mendeteksi ulkus tahap awal. Kaki diabetik merupakan salah satu komplikasi diabetes yang apabila tidak tertangani akan menebabkan luka atau yang biasa disebut Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU). DFU merupakan suatu kondisi infeksi ulserasi atau kerusakan jaringan kaki yang berhubungan dengan neuropati penyakit vaskuler perifer pada tungkai bawah seseorang dengan riwayat diabetes mellitus. Tujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan perawatan kaki dengan tingkat risiko kaki diabetik pada pasien DM Tipe 2 di Puskesmas Kota Malang. Jenis penelitian yaitu penelitian cross-sectional dengan total responden sebanyak 49 pasien DM tipe 2. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya korelasi antara tingkat pengetahuan perawatan kaki dengan tingkat risiko kaki diabetik pada pasien DM Tipe 2 (p-value= 0,000, α= 0,05). Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah hasil uji statistik rank spearman menunjukkan hubungan negatif dimana semakin tinggi tingkat pengetahuan perawatan kaki maka semakin rendah tingkat risiko kaki diabetik responden. Kekuatan hubungan bersifat kuat (r= -0,654). Oleh karena itu, peran perawat sebagai edukator sangat diperlukan untuk dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan perawatan kaki pada pasien diabetes.

English Abstract

Foot care knowledge is one of the factors involved in the self-care process. Knowledge and foot care have a very important role in preventing diabetic foot ulcers and can also detect ulcers at an early stage. Diabetic foot is one of the complications of diabetes which, if left untreated, can cause a wound or what is commonly called a Diabetic Foot Ulcers (DFU). DFU is a condition of ulcerated infection or foot tissue damage associated with peripheral vascular disease neuropathy in the lower limbs of a person with a history of diabetes mellitus. The main objective: to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of foot care and the risk level of diabetic foot in patients with type 2 DM at the Malang City Health Center. This type of research is a cross-sectional study with a total of 49 respondents with type 2 DM. The results of this study indicate a correlation between the level of knowledge of foot care and the level of risk of diabetic foot in patients with type 2 DM (p-value = 0.000, α = 0.05 ). The results of the Spearman rank statistical test established a negative relationship where the higher the level of knowledge of foot care, the lower the risk level of the respondent's diabetic foot. The strength of the relationship is strong (r= -0.654). The conclusion from the results of this study is that the majority of respondents have a good level of foot care knowledge and most of the respondents have a high level of risk of diabetic foot. Therefore, the role of nurses as educators is needed to increase knowledge of foot care in diabetic patients.
