Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh keterampilan mengajar dan kompetensi mengajar mahasiswa Praktik Lapangan Persekolahan (PLP) Program Studi Pendidikan Teknologi Informasi Universitas Brawijaya terhadap persepsi peserta didik di SMK Negeri 2 Malang. Hasil berdasarkan observasi menunjukkan bahwa hanya guru pamong dan dosen pembimbing yang menilai kemampuan mengajar mahasiswa PLP, namun penilaian peserta didik juga penting karena mereka berinteraksi langsung dengan mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada peserta didik di SMK Negeri 2 Malang yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dari mahasiswa PLP dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 114 responden. Analisis data dilakukan untuk mengukur pengaruh keterampilan mengajar dan kompetensi mengajar terhadap persepsi peserta didik. Aspek yang diteliti yaitu keterampilan mengajar dan kompetensi mengajar dari mahasiswa PLP. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel keterampilan mengajar berpengaruh signifikan sebesar positif 0.061 terhadap persepsi peserta didik, sedangkan variabel kompetensi mengajar tidak berpengaruh sebesar negatif 0.101 terhadap persepsi peserta didik. Untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam, penelitian ini juga melakukan wawancara lanjutan yang mengidentifikasi adanya pengaruh positif dari variabel keterampilan mengajar. Berdasarkan temuan ini, penelitian merekomendasikan untuk mempertimbangkan penggunaan variabel lain yang tidak dicakup dalam penelitian ini untuk penelitian lebih lanjut. Selain itu, penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya melibatkan penilaian dari peserta didik sebagai bagian dari evaluasi keseluruhan terhadap efektivitas pengajaran mahasiswa PLP.

English Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of teaching skills and teaching competence of students in the School Field Practice (PLP) of the Information Technology Education Study Program at Universitas Brawijaya on the perceptions of students at SMK Negeri 2 Malang. Observations show that only mentor teachers and supervising lecturers assess the teaching abilities of PLP students, but student assessments are also important as they directly interact with the students. This research employs a quantitative method with a survey approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to students at SMK Negeri 2 Malang who received lessons from PLP students, with a total sample of 114 respondents. Data analysis was conducted to measure the impact of teaching skills and teaching competence on students' perceptions. The aspects studied include the teaching skills and teaching competence of PLP students. The data analysis method used is multiple linear regression. The study show that the variable of teaching skills has a significant positive effect 0.061 on students' perceptions, while the variable of teaching competence does not have a effect negative 0.101 on students' perceptions. To gain a deeper understanding, this study also conducted follow-up interviews that identified a positive impact of the teaching skills variable. Based on these findings, the study recommends considering the use of other variables not covered in this research for future studies. Additionally, this research highlights the importance of involving student assessments as part of the overall evaluation of the teaching effectiveness of PLP students.
