Abstract
Saat ini, media berbasis digital sangat dibutuhkan dalam konteks pembelajaran. Meskipun demikian, banyak guru yang masih bergantung pada bentuk media konvensional, seperti board games. Penelitian ini fokus terhadap topik pandangan seorang guru tentang penggunaan board games untuk pendidikan Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti mengadaptasi panduan wawancara untuk mengumpulkan data. Peneliti mencatat dan merekam jawaban partisipan untuk mengumpulkan data. Peneliti mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara mendalam dengan partisipan. Partisipan adalah seorang guru bahasa Inggris di sebuah Sekolah Menengah Pertama swasta di Kabupaten Malang. Data dianalisis berdasarkan dimensi instrumen. Data ditampilkan secara deskriptif. Dengan adanya teknologi digital, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa board games memiliki berbagai manfaat. Siswa termotivasi dan proses pembelajaran menjadi lebih mudah dipahami ketika guru menggunakan board games di kelas. Meningkatkan motivasi belajar Bahasa Inggris juga dapat dicapai melalui penggunaan board games sebagai media pembelajaran yang efektif. Penggunaan board games mendorong keterlibatan, motivasi, dan kesenangan yang lebih besar di antara siswa, sehingga membuat proses pendidikan menjadi lebih efektif dan menyenangkan. Telah terbukti bahwa board games membawa peningkatan nilai siswa dalam pelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Selama proses pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris, board games menunjukkan bahwa siswa lebih terlibat dalam aktivitas tersebut. Kemampuan siswa untuk belajar Bahasa Inggris meningkat dengan penggunaan board games, menurut kesimpulan penelitian ini. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar board games digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk mengajar Bahasa Inggris
English Abstract
Nowadays, digital-based media-integrated is needed in the learning context. Nevertheless, there are many of the teachers who still depend on conventional forms of media, such as board games. Therefore, in this study the teacher's point of view on the use of board games for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) education is the focus of this study. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. In this study, the researcher adapted an interview guide to collected the data. The researcher took a note and record the participant’s answer to collected the data. The researcher collected the data through an in-depth interview with the participant. The participant was one English teacher in a private Junior High School in Malang Regency. The data was analyzed based on the instrument dimensions. The data was displayed descriptively. With the advent of digital technology, the result showed that board game still has various benefits. Students are motivated and the learning process is made more understandable when teachers use board games in the classroom. The use of board games as an efficient lesson media for teacher and student. The use of board games encourages greater engagement, motivation, and enjoyment among students, so making the educational process more effective and enjoyable. It has been demonstrated that playing board games brings about an improvement in students' English class scores. During the English learning process, the board game demonstrated that students were more engaged in the activity. The ability of students to learn English is improved by the use of board games, according to the conclusion. Thus, it is recommended that board games be used as a learning media for teaching English.
