Abstract
Penelitian ini memiliki untuk mengkaji proses transformasi dalam sistem ekonomi spiritual di Situs Keramat Siti Inggil, yaitu transformasi ‘ekonomi berkah’ dalam hubungan juru kunci dan peziarah menjadi hubungan bernilai komersial. Lokasi penelitian ini terletak di Dusun Kedungwulan, Desa Bejijong, Kecamatan Trowulan, Kabupaten Mojokerto. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode etnografi dengan pendekatan kualitatif, pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan kajian literatur. Teori yang akan diterapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori komodifikasi yang dikembangkan oleh Karl Marx, melalui perspektif ini akan digunakan untuk menelisik adanya komodifikasi dari keseharian dan pengalaman para juru kunci yang pernah menjabat di Situs Keramat Siti Inggil. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa terjadi transformasi dalam sistem ekonomi spiritual di Situs Keramat Siti Inggil, yaitu pudarnya ‘ekonomi berkah’ dalam hubungan juru kunci dan peziarah. Hubungan yang pada awalnya adalah murni sebuah pengabdian juru kunci dalam bentuk pelayanan kepada peziarah menjadi hubungan untuk mencari keuntungan dan meningkatkan ekonomi bagi juru kunci.
English Abstract
This research aims to examine the transformation process in the spiritual economy system at the Sacred Site of Siti Inggil, specifically the transformation of the 'blessing economy' in the relationship between key keepers and pilgrims into a commercially valued relationship. The research location is situated in Dusun Kedungwulan, Bejijong Village, Trowulan District, Mojokerto Regency. This study employs ethnographic methods with a qualitative approach, with data collection conducted through observation, interviews, and literature review. The theory applied in this research is the theory of commodification developed by Karl Marx. This perspective will be used to investigate the commodification of the daily lives and experiences of key keepers who have served at the Sacred Site of Siti Inggil. The study found that there has been a transformation in the spiritual economy system at the Sacred Site of Siti Inggil, namely the fading of the 'blessing economy' in the relationship between key keepers and pilgrims. The relationship, which was initially purely a devotion of the key keepers in the form of service to pilgrims, has become a relationship aimed at seeking profit and improving the economic conditions of the key keepers
