Abstract
Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi tema diskriminasi terhadap para Outcast dalam serial Wednesday melalui lensa sosiologi sastra. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif, penelitian ini menganalisis bentuk-bentuk diskriminasi yang dihadapi oleh Wednesday dan teman-temannya, serta motif-motif yang mendasari perilaku diskriminatif tersebut. Dengan menggunakan kerangka teori sosiologi sastra, diskriminasi dan didukung oleh teori studi film, penelitian ini menyoroti hubungan antara sastra dan masyarakat, menekankan bagaimana karya sastra merefleksikan dan mempengaruhi masyarakat. Temuan-temuan tersebut menjelaskan penggambaran diskriminasi sosial dalam serial seperti diskriminasi yang dialami Wednesday dan diskriminasi yang dilakukan karena stereotip. Dengan demikian ini berkontribusi pada pemahaman yang lebih dalam tentang bagaimana sastra dapat berfungsi sebagai cermin bagi isu-isu sosial. Penelitian ini diakhiri dengan wawasan tentang implikasi teori penelitian dan saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya untuk mengeksplorasi lebih jauh topik penting lainnya.
English Abstract
This research explores the theme of discrimination towards the outcast group in the Wednesday series through the lens of sociology of literature. By utilizing a qualitative research method, the study analyze the forms of discrimination faced by Wednesday and her friends, and the underlying motives that drive such discriminatory behavior. Drawing on the theoretical framework of sociology approach, discrimination theory and supported by the theory of film study, the research highlights the interplay between literature and society, emphasized on how literary works reflect and affect society. The findings shed light on the portrayal of social discrimination in the series such as the segregation faced by Wednesday and discrimination driven by stereotype. Thus contribute to a deeper understanding of how literature can serve as a mirror to societal issues. The study conclude with insights into the theory implications of the research and suggestions for future studies to further explore different important topic.
