Abstract
Novel Edensor adalah novel karangan Andrea Hirata, menceritakan tentang tokoh Ikal atau Andrea Hirata yang mengejar impiannya untuk menjelajahi Eropa. Ada wacana poskolonial dan wacana bias budaya dalam novel ini, yang menarik untuk dikaji lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap wacana tersebut dengan menggunakan Analisis Wacana Kritis model Teun Adrianus van Dijk. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Selanjutnya, frasa, kata, kalimat, dan paragraf yang ditemukan dalam buku Edensor digunakan sebagai sumber data penelitian. Dari analisis dimensi teks terdapat wacana bias budaya dan wacana poskolonial pada struktur mikro terutama di elemen detail, maksud, sintaksis, stilistik, retoris. Kemudian pada kognisi sosial ditemukan wacana bias budaya dan wacana poskolonial terutama dalam elemen pengetahuan, opini dan sikap. Kemudian pada konteks sosial terdapat wacana bias budaya dan wacana poskolonial yang berupa ambivalensi dan penindasan rakyat pribumi akibat praktek kolonial negara Barat. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah lingkungan kognisi sosial di sekitar pengarang yang cenderung Islam dan konservatif menjadi penyebab munculnya wacana bias budaya dalam novel Edensor. Adapun wacana poskolonial yang munonjol pada novel berupa mimikri, ambivalensi dan deskripsi penindasan terhadap pribumi.
English Abstract
In the novel Edensor, Andrea Hirata narrates the tale of Ikal, or Andrea Hirata, as he follows his ambition to travel throughout Europe. The work contains postcolonial and cultural bias themes, both of which merit more investigation. Teun A. van Dijk's Critical Discourse Analysis will be used in this study to try and make the discourse more transparent. This study employs a qualitative methodology. In addition, the book Edensor's phrases, words, sentences, and paragraphs are cited as data sources. According to the text dimension analysis, the microstructure contains both postcolonial and culturally biassed discourse, particularly in the areas of detail, intent, grammar, stylistics, and rhetoric. Then, there is a postcolonial and cultural bias narrative in social cognition, particularly in the areas of knowledge, opinion, and attitude. Then, as a result of the effects of Western countries' colonial actions, there is a discourse of cultural bias and postcolonial discourse in the social context, which takes the shape of ambivalence and the subjugation of indigenous people. The study concludes that the social cognition environment around the author, which tends to be Islamic and conservative, causes the emergence of cultural bias discourse in the novel Edensor. The postcolonial discourse that stands out in the novel is in the form of mimicry, ambivalence and description of oppression against the natives
