Abstract

Penelitian ini berangkat dari konsep pemberitaan di televise dengan mengetahui tema-tema berita selama tahun politik sedang berlangsung. Tema-tema berita yang akan diangkat menjadi sebuah berita di setiap stasiun televisi dan berguna untuk memudahkan penilaian terhadap berita utama yang sering disiarkan. Dalam hal ini, penggolongannya dengan mengkategorisasikan tema-tema yang terdapat dalam berita utama tersebut. Pada era politik biasanya memunculkan banyaknya berita-berita di setiap media massa yang terkait dengan politik, seperti proses persiapan kampanye, debat capres dan cawapres, dan kegiatan Pemilu lainnya. Penelitian ini membahas tentang tema-tema berita yang disiarkan oleh Lintas Inews Jatim edisi Februari – Maret 2023. Dalam hal ini, peneliti menganggap bahwa tema berita politik mendominasi sebagai berita yang sering ditayangkan oleh Lintas Inews Jatim. Dalam hal ini, penelitian ini menggunakan analisis isi deskriptif kuantitatif yang didasarkan pada frekuensi dan persentase. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan 413 berita yang disiarkan Lintas Inews Jatim edisi Februari - Maret 2023 dan total populasi ini yang digunakan sebagai keseluruhan sampel penelitian. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa Lintas Inews Jatim pada bulan Februari – Maret 2023 didominasi oleh tema berita kriminal. Pada tahun politik ini, Lintas Inews cenderung tidak memiliki pemberitaan politik yang terbukti dari hasil analisis data selama Februari – Maret 2023. Melalui penelitian terdahulu, beberapa redaksi maupun surat kabar serta media komunikasi lain cenderung memberitakan berita politik saat persiapan pesta demokrasi berlangsung, namun hasil menunjukkan tidak signifikan dari redaksi Lintas Inews Jatim yang tidak memiliki berita politik.

English Abstract

This research departs from the concept of reporting on television by knowing news themes during the ongoing political year. News themes that will be raised as news on each television station and are useful for facilitating the assessment of the main news that is often broadcast. In this case, the classification is by categorizing the themes contained in the headlines. In the political era, it usually raises a lot of news in every mass media related to politics, such as the process of preparing campaigns, presidential and vice presidential candidate debates, and other election activities. This study discusses the themes of the news broadcast by Lintas Inews, East Java in the February – March 2023 edition. In this case, the researcher considers that political news themes dominate as news that is often broadcast by Lintas Inews, East Java. In this case, this research uses descriptive quantitative content analysis based on frequency and percentage. This type of research uses 413 news broadcast by Lintas Inews, East Java in the February - March 2023 edition and this total population is used as the entire research sample. The findings show that Lintas Inews, East Java in February - March 2023 is dominated by the theme of crime news. In this political year, Lintas Inews tends to have no political coverage as evidenced by the results of data analysis during February – March 2023. Through previous research, several editors as well as newspapers and other communication media tend to report political news when preparations for the Democratic Party take place, but the results show insignificant from the editorial team of Lintas Inews East Java which has no political news.
