Abstract
Fenomena mahasiswa yang bekerja sudah umum ditemui saat ini. Alasan untuk bekerja ini didasari atas keputusan personal mahasiswa. Walaupun memiliki dampak positif, namun keputusan kuliah sambil bekerja juga membawa beberapa dampak negatif. Mahasiswa yang kuliah sambil bekerja rentan mengalami stres akibat peran ganda yang dimiliki. Maka dari itu, perceived social support yang baik sangat diperlukan. Perceived social support terbukti memiliki hubungan positif dengan psychological well-being seseorang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan perceived social support dengan psychological well-being mahasiswa yang bekerja. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif korelasional dengan teknik sampling non-probability accidental sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam pengambilan data adalah Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support dan Psychological Well-being Scale Shortened-version. Total responden dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 200 orang mahasiswa yang sedang bekerja. Teknik analisis yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis adalah pearson product moment correlation dan didapatkan hasil terdapat hubungan antara perceived social support dengan psychological well-being mahasiswa yang bekerja dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 75.8% dengan sisanya berasal dari luar faktor lain yang tidak diteliti pada penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan informasi bahwa dukungan orang sekitar pada mahasiswa yang bekerja sangat penting untuk kesejahteraan psikologisnya
English Abstract
The phenomenon of college students working while studying is becoming increasingly common. These decisions to work are based on personal choices. While there are positive impacts, the decision to work while attending college can also bring some negative consequences. College students who work are more susceptible to stress due to the dual roles they fulfill. Therefore, strong perceived social support is crucial. Perceived social support has been demonstrably linked to a person's psychological well-being. This study aims to investigate the relationship between perceived social support and the psychological well-being of college students who work. The research method employed is quantitative correlational, utilizing a non-probability accidental sampling technique. The instruments used to gather data are the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support and the Psychological Well-being Scale Shortenedversion. Total respondents that participate in this study is 200 working college students. The analysis technique used to test the hypothesis is Pearson product-moment correlation. The results revealed a positive correlation between perceived social support and the psychological well-being of working college students. This correlation accounted for 75.8% of the effect, with the remaining 24.2% stemming from other factors not examined in this study. The findings of this research highlight the significant role that the support of those around working college students plays in their psychological well-being.
