Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi sejauh mana pemanfaatan koleksi e-book oleh pemustaka pada UPT Perpustakaan Universitas Negeri Malang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu menyebarkan kuesioner kepada pemustaka Perpustakaan UM sebanyak 92 kuesioner. Indikator penelitian ini menggunakan 6 faktor pemanfaatan sebuah koleksi yaitu motif, kebutuhan, minat, kelengkapan koleksi, ketersediaan fasilitas, dan keterampilan pustakawan. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa: (1) Empat indikator yang terpenuhi diantaranya motif, kelengkapan koleksi, ketersediaan fasilitas dan keterampilan pustakawan. Dari sisi motif dan kelengkapan koleksi, pemustaka dalam mengakses e-book yang dilanggan Perpustakaan UM dapat mempermudah dan mempercepat pencarian informasi yang dibutuhkan pemustaka. Dari segi ketersediaan fasilitas untuk mengakses e-journal seperti lancarnya koneksi internet dan website penyedia e-book sangat mudah dipahami sehingga dapat menunjang pemustaka dalam mengakses e-book tersebut. Selanjutnya keterampilan pustakawan Perpustakaan UM yang disertai profesionalitas menjadikan pelayanan e-book dapat berjalan maksimal. (2) Kemudian dua indikator yang belum memenuhi antara lain indikator kebutuhan dan minat. Dari segi kebutuhan terdapat pemustaka yang tidak selalu menggunakan e-book sebagai pemenuh kebutuhan tugas kuliah ataupun penelitian. Selanjutnya dari indikator minat, pemustaka tidak merasakan bahwa akses e-book mudah dan fleksibel serta belum dapat memenuhi kebutuhan informasi karena aksesnya.

English Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the extent of the use of e-book collections by users at the UPT Library of the State University of Malang. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The data collection technique used was to distribute questionnaires to UM Library users as many as 92 questionnaires. The indicators of this study use 6 factors for the utilization of a collection, there are motives, needs, interests, completeness of the collection, availability of facilities, and skills of librarians. From the results of the study, it is known that: (1) Four indicators are fulfilled including motives, completeness of collections, availability of facilities and librarian‘s skills. In terms of motifs and completeness of the collection, users in accessing e-books subscribed to the UM Library can make it easier and faster to find the information that users need. In terms of the availability of facilities to access e-book such as good internet connections and e-book provider websites, it is very easy to understand so that it can support users when accessing the e-book. Furthermore, the skills of UM Library librarians accompanied by professionalism make e-book services run optimally. (2) Then two indicators that have not unfulfilled, there are indicators of needs and interests. In terms of needs, there are users who do not always use e-books to fulfilled the needs of college assignments or researchers. Furthermore, from the interest indicator, users does not feel that access to e-books is easy and flexible and cannot fulfiiled the needs of information because of the access.
