Abstract
Semakin ketatnya persaingan antar perusahaan dalam industri pangan, menyebabkan semakin banyak perusahaan yang semakin memperhatikan kualitas produk yang menjadi aspek terpenting dalam keputusan pemilihan konsumen. Namun, pemeriksaan kualitas produk membutuhkan biaya besar dan waktu lama apabila dilakukan pada semua produk. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan metode sampling dengan pengujian pada beberapa sampel yang mewakili populasi produk. Salah satu metode sampling yang sering digunakan di industri pangan adalah metode Military Standard (MIL-STD-105E). Kegiatan magang ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pelaksanaan metode sampling di PT X, hal ini karena nilai complaint rate sebesar 41,95 ppm (parts per million) melebihi batas maksimal yang ditetapkan perusahaan 34,25 ppm. Salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan hal tersebut karena penerapan sampling yang belum baik. Kegiatan magang dilakukan selama tiga bulan terhitung sejak 24 Juli hingga 01 November 2023, bertempat di PT X pada Departemen Quality Management and Regulatory Affairs di Head Office (Jakarta Barat). Tahapan magang meliputi observasi lapangan, wawancara tidak terstruktur, diskusi penetapan topik, mengidentifikasi penerapan metode sampling MIL-STD-105E, mengevaluasi penerapan metode sampling yang digunakan dengan software minitab 19 berdasarkan grafik Operating Characteristic (Kurva OC), dan merekomendasi standarisasi sesuai dengan standar yang berlaku. Hasil dari kegiatan magang yang telah dilakukan dengan melakukan perbandingan metode MIL-STD-105E dengan Dodge-Romig diperoleh hasil metode Dodge–Romig memiliki rencana sampling yang lebih baik, berdasarkan terdeteksinya temuan defect product pada lot yang sama sebanyak 7 temuan defect minor dan 14 defect mayor. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, direkomendasikan untuk peningkatan metode sampling MIL-STD-105E dari Special Inspection Level (SIL-II) menjadi General Inspection Level (GIL-I) sesuai dengan pengambilan sampel yang dilakukan di lapangan dengan pedoman Military Standard.
English Abstract
The increasingly tight competition between companies in the food industry has caused more and more companies to pay more attention to product quality, which is the most important aspect of consumer selection decisions. However, product quality inspection requires large costs and a long time if carried out on all products. Therefore, a sampling method is needed by testing several samples that represent the product population. One sampling method that is often used in the food industry is the Military Standard Method (MIL-STD-105E). This internship activity aims to evaluate the implementation of the sampling method at PT X, this is because the complaint rate value is 41,95 ppm (parts per million), exceeding the maximum limit set by the company of 34,25 ppm. One of the factors that causes this is the poor implementation of sampling. Internship activities will be carried out for three months starting from July 24 to November 01, 2023, at PT X in the Quality Management and Regulatory Affairs Department at the Head Office (West Jakarta). The internship stages include field observations, unstructured interviews, discussions on determining topics, identifying the application of the MIL-STD-105E sampling method, evaluating the application of the sampling method used with Minitab 19 software based on the Operating Characteristic (OC Curve) graph, and recommending standardization by established standards applies. The results of the internship activities that have been carried out by comparing the MIL-STD-105E method with the Dodge-Romig method show that the Dodge-Romig method has a better sampling plan, based on the detection of product defect findings in the same lot of 7 minor defects and 14 defects. major. Based on this, it is recommended to upgrade the MIL-STD-105E sampling method from Special Inspection Level (SIL-II) to General Inspection Level (GIL-I) by sampling carried out in the field with Military Standard guidelines.
