Abstract
Studi ini ditujukan untuk mengeksplor kata hubung yang ditemukan dalam transkrip pidato oleh Jokowi pada Puncak APEC CEO Summit 2014. Penelitian ini mengacu pada teori wacana oleh Halliday dan Hasan 1976 dan peneliti lainnya. Wacana dapat di definisikan sebagai bagian dari linguistik yang bermakna. Jika seseorang ingin mempelajari wacana, ia dapat menggunakan analisa wacana. Analisa wacana menyangkut tentang bagaimana bahasa digunakan dalam bentuk teks. Di sebuah teks, wacana merujuk pada kepaduan tata bahasa dan pilihan kata yang di sebut kohesi. Di studi ini, Peneliti hanya fokus pada kata hubung dan tipe-tipenya. Tujuan dari studi ini adalah untuk menemukan : (1) Apa saja tipe dari kata hubung yang digunakan di dalam pidato itu dan (2) Apa fungsi dari kata hubung yang digunakan di dalam pidato itu. Peneliti menggunakan penelitian kualitatif. Dikarenakan pidato merupakan bentuk dari kata-kata atau kalimat-kalimat, dia melakukan analisa dari setiap kalimat yang digunakan yang berisikan tipe-tipe dari kata hubung. Data yang di gunakan adalah kata hubung yang terdapat di dalam pidato dan sumber data adalah berupa transkrip pidato yang dapatkan dari website http://englishindo.com/ yang dirilis pada 2015. Dalam temuan, peneliti menemukan 59 kata hubung di dalam pidato yang mana 24 additive, 2 adversative, 14 causal dan 21 temporal. Dia menemukan kata hubung yang paling sering digunakan adalah “dan” yang termasuk additive. Pidato yang digunakan oleh Jokowi adalah tentang beberapa informasi. Dia lebih memberikan pernyataan daripada argumentasi. Dia menggunakan “dan” untuk menambahkan ide pada ide lainnya dalam topik pembahasan yang sama. Peneliti menyarankan kepada peneliti selanjutnya agar menganalisa tipe lainnya dari alat kepaduan tata bahasa yang belum pernah dibuat sebelumnya. Terakhir, untuk pembaca, mereka mungkin mendapatkan informasi lebih mengenai tipe-tipe dan fungsi dari kata hubung dalam analisa wacana.
English Abstract
This study is aimed to explore the conjunction that is found in the speech transcript of Jokowi at APEC CEO Summit 2014. This research is referenced to discourse theory by Halliday and Hasan 1976 and other experts. Discourse can be defined as a part of linguistic which is meaningful. If somebody wants to study the discourse, he can use discourse analysis. Discourse analysis concerns about how language is used in the form of texts. Within a text, discourse concerns with grammatical and lexical cohesive called cohesion. The aims of this study are to find out : (1) What are the types of conjunction used in the speech and (2) What is the function of conjunction used in the speech. The researcher uses qualitative research. Since speech is in the form of words or sentences, she does the analysis of every sentence containing types of conjunctions. The data used is conjunction in the speech and the data source is in the form of speech transcript that were obtained from website in http://englishindo.com/ published on 2015. In findings, The researcher finds 61 conjunctions in the speech which are 24 additives, 2 adversatives, 14 causals and 21 temporals. She finds that the most conjunction used is “and” which is additive. The speech used by jokowi is about some information. He gave more statement than argumentation. He used “and” to add an idea to another idea in the same topic of discussion. The researcher suggests the next researcher to analyze other type of grammatical cohesive devices that are never made yet. Finally, for the readers, they may get moree information about the types and the function of conjunction in discourse analysis.
