Abstract
Editor adalah seorang yang bertugas dan bertanggung jawab pada proses pasca produksi sebuah produksi sebuah karya audio visual. Editor berperan penting dalam proses penyuntingan gambar mulai dari pemotongan gambar atau cutting hingga penambahan elemen elemen visual seperti visual effect, dan transisi Music Video adalah sebuah karya audio visual yang menggabungan antara musik dengan visual yang dapat memperkuat penyampaian pesan lagu itu sendiri kepada penonton. Selain itu music video juga dapat menjadi media promosi melalui berbagai platform penyedia video. Pada era digital saat ini para penyuka musik lebih senang mendengarkan musik dengan melihat visualnya karena dapat membuat penonton ikut merasakan apa yang sedang penyanyi sampaikan kepada mereka. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai Teknik editing video pada proses pasca produksi music video “Nothin’ More Than a Friend”. Editor membuat musik video dengan menggunakan pendekatan observasional dalam music video “Nothin’ More Than a Friend”. Proses pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian kualitatif digunakan untuk memahami secara mendalam bagaimana editor berperan dalam proses pasca produksi video musik. Metode deskriptif yang akan difokuskan pada pengumpulan data yang memberikan gambaran rinci teknik pemotongan, transisi dan visual effect yang dilakukan oleh editor.
English Abstract
An editor is a person who is in charge and responsible for the postproduction process of an audio-visual work. Editors play an important role in the image editing process, starting from cutting images to adding visual elements such as visual effects and transitions Music Video is an audio-visual work that combines music with visuals to strengthen the delivery of the song's message to the audience. Apart from that, music videos can also be a promotional medium through various video provider platforms. In the current digital era, music fans prefer to listen to music by looking at the visuals because it can make the audience feel what the singer is conveying to them. This research discusses video editing techniques in the postproduction process of the music video "Nothin' More Than a Friend". The editor made the music video using an observational approach in the music video "Nothin' More Than a Friend". The data collection process uses a qualitative research approach. Qualitative research is used to understand in depth how editors play a role in the post-production process of music videos. The descriptive method will focus on data collection which provides a detailed description of the cutting techniques, transitions and visual effects carried out by the editor.
