Abstract

Buku ilustrasi yang berjudul Gaza Before Our Eyes merupakah sebuah media edukasi kepada masyarakat umum yang berisi tentang dampak perang Israel – Hamas kepada warga sipil di Gaza. Setelah melakukan serangkaian pengumpulan data mulai dari studi literatur hingga wawancara, ditemukan suatu permasalahan yaitu, kurangnya media edukasi untuk masyarakat umum agar lebih memahami dampak perang yang sebenarnya dirasakan warga sipil di Gaza dan turut juga berempati. Di era globalisasi yang mampu menyebarkan informasi secara cepat, hampir semua orang tahu bahwa terdapat konflik di Gaza, dimana hingga saat ini belum menemukan titik terang, dan itu terus berdampak kepada kehidupan warga Gaza. Hal ini menyebabkan masyarakat umum memiliki tugas moral untuk terus menyuarakan dan memberitakan peristiwa di Gaza, hingga mereka dapat menggapai kemerdekaannya. Buku ilustrasi ini dirancang dengan menyesuaikan target pembacanya, yaitu remaja muda yang dinilai dapat memahami isu global ini dengan baik. Remaja muda cenderung memiliki ketertarikan akan isu global dan bereaksi dikarenakan mereka memiliki akses informasi yang baik dan juga lingkungan pendidikan yang mendorong mereka untuk berpikir kritis. Setelah melakukan berbagai wawancara terhadap berbagai narasumber, lalu dirancanglah buku ilustrasi yang berjudul Gaza Before Our Eyes. Buku ini telah melakukan uji hasil kepada para pembaca dan didapatkan hasil akhir yaitu semua pembaca setuju bahwa buku ilustrasi ini menarik, mudah dipahami, memberikan hikmah kepada pembaca, memberikan pandangan baru tentang perang yang terjadi di Gaza, dan juga meningkatkan simpati dan empati mereka kepada warga sipil di Gaza.

English Abstract

The illustrated book entitled Gaza Before Our Eyes is an educational medium for the general public that contains the impact of the Israel – Hamas war on civilians in Gaza. After carrying out a series of data collection ranging from literature studies to interviews, a problem was discovered, namely, the lack of educational media for the general public to better understand the actual impact of war felt by civilians in Gaza and also to empathize. In the era of globalization which is able to disseminate information quickly, almost everyone knows that the conflict is taking place in Gaza, which until now has not yet found a bright spot, and it continues to have an impact on the lives of Gaza residents. This causes the general public to have a moral duty to continue to speak out and report on events in Gaza, until they can achieve independence. This illustrated book was designed to suit its target readers, namely young teenagers who are considered to be able to understand this global issue well. Young teenagers tend to have an interest in global issues and react considering they have access to good information and also an educational environment that encourages them to think critically. After conducting various interviews with various sources, an illustrated book entitled Gaza Before Our Eyes was designed. This book has tested the results on readers and the final result is that all readers agree that this illustrated book is interesting, easy to understand, provides wisdom to readers, provides a new perspective on the war taking place in Gaza, and also increases their sympathy and empathy for the residents. . civilians in Gaza.
