Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui evaluasi efektivitas kegiatan Kuliah Umum dalam proses persiapan praktek layar di politeknik pelayaran surabaya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitan ini yaitu metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Dari hasil penelitian, kegiatan Kuliah Umum berperan penting dalam proses persiapan praktek layar dan juga memberikan pemahaman mengenai dunia industri maritim. Kegiatan Kuliah Umum dapat dikatakan efektif karena dapat membantu Taruna dan Taruni dalam proses persiapan praktek layar, tentunya dapat membuka peluang untuk membangun networking serta mempermudah mencari pekerjaan setelah lulus di industri maritim.
English Abstract
This research aims to determine the evaluation of the effectiveness of Public Lecture activities in the process of preparing for sailing practice at the Surabaya Sailing Polytechnic. Method used in this research is a descriptive method with qualitative approach. From the research results, Public Lecture activities play a role important in the process of preparing for sailing practice and also provides an understanding of the world of the maritime industry. Public Lecture Activities can be said effective because it can help cadets and cadets in the process of preparing for sailing practice, of course it can open up opportunities to build networking and make it easier to find work after graduating in the maritime industry.
