Abstract
Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 (DMT2) merupakan penyakit metabolik kronis yang prevalensinya meningkat secara global, termasuk di Indonesia, dengan komplikasi serius seperti neuropati diabetik dan disfungsi ereksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami gambaran antara neuropati diabetik dan disfungsi ereksi pada pria dengan DMT2. Sebanyak 12 responden pria dengan DMT2 dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini.. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden berada dalam kelompok usia dewasa (50,0%) dan memiliki pendidikan setingkat SMA (66,67%). Sebagian besar responden baru didiagnosis DMT2 (33,3%) atau menderita dalam jangka pendek (1-5 tahun).. Analisis status neuropati menunjukkan bahwa 41,67% responden berisiko tinggi neuropati diabetik, 33,33% berisiko sedang, dan 25% tidak berisiko. Analisis fungsi seksual menunjukkan bahwa 41,67% responden memiliki fungsi ereksi normal, 25% disfungsi ereksi sedang, 41,67% fungsi orgasme normal, 25% disfungsi orgasme ringan-sedang, 41,67% fungsi hasrat seksual normal, dan 41,67% disfungsi hasrat seksual ringan-sedang. Kepuasan hubungan seksual dan kepuasan umum juga terganggu pada 33,33% dan 41,67% responden. Temuan ini menunjukkan gambaran yang kompleks antara neuropati diabetik dan disfungsi ereksi pada pria dengan DMT2, peneliti menemukan bahwa pasien yang diklasifikasikan risiko tinggi neuropatii kaki cenderung memiliki nilai rendah pada disfunggsi ereksi dan juga kepuasan seksual pada pasangannya. English Abstract
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disease with increasing prevalence globally, including in Indonesia, characterized by serious complications such as diabetic neuropathy and erectile dysfunction. This study aims to understand the relationship between diabetic neuropathy and erectile dysfunction in men with T2DM. A total of 12 male respondents with T2DM were involved in this study. Results showed that the majority of respondents were in the adult age group (50.0%) and had a high school education (66.67%). Most respondents were newly diagnosed with T2DM (33.3%) or had a short duration of the disease (1-5 years). Analysis of neuropathy status indicated that 41.67% of respondents were at high risk for diabetic neuropathy, 33.33% were at moderate risk, and 25% were not at risk. Sexual function analysis revealed that 41.67% of respondents had normal erectile function, 25% had moderate erectile dysfunction, 41.67% had normal orgasm function, 25% had mild to moderate orgasm dysfunction, 41.67% had normal sexual desire function, and 41.67% had mild to moderate sexual desire dysfunction. Sexual relationship satisfaction and general satisfaction were also impaired in 33.33% and 41.67% of respondents, respectively. These findings indicate a complex relationship between diabetic neuropathy and erectile dysfunction in men with T2DM, with the study finding that patients classified as high risk for foot neuropathy tended to have lower scores in erectile dysfunction and sexual satisfaction with their partners. These sexual dysfunctions significantly impact their quality of life. A holistic approach involving a multidisciplinary team in the management of T2DM is crucial to comprehensively understand and address sexual dysfunction and overall quality of life.
