Abstract
Telah banyak dilakukan usaha meningkatkan kinerja solar still diantaranya mendinginkan temperatur kaca penutup, meningkafkan absorpsifitas pelat kolektor, penambahan satu ruang heat recovery dan Iain-lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan ruang heat recovery dengan variasi jarak dinding kondensasi terhadap produktifitas dan efisiensi solar still. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan penambahan dua ruang heat recovery dengan variasi jarak dinding kondensasi 14 cm, 21 cm dan 28 cm di ruang heat recovery kedua, sedangkan di ruang heat revovery pertama jarak dinding kondensasinya 28 cm. Pada penambahan tiga ruang heat recovery variasi jarak dinding kondensasi14 cm, 21 cm, 28 cm di ruang heat recovery ketiga sedangkan di ruang heat recovery pertama dan kedua jarak dinding kondensasinya 28 cm. Perlakuan yang diberikan pada penambahan dua dan tiga ruang heat recovery yaitu tanpa pendingin air dan menggunakan pendingin air pada dindingdinding kondensasinya. kinerja yang diukur adalah produktifitas air kondensat dan efisiensi solar still. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan dua ruang heat recovery dengan perlakukan pendingin air menghasilkan produktifitas air kondensat 4,66 L/m2 hari dan efisiensinya 75,4% dan penambahan tiga ruang heat recovery dengan perlakuan pendingin air menghasilkan air kondesat 5 ,58 L/m2. hari dan efisiensinya 78,7%. Peneliti menyarankan untuk menambah lebih dari tiga ruang heat recovery dengan variasi jarak dinding kondensasi 28 cm, 35 cm dan 42 cm guna meningkatkan produktifitas dan efisiensi solar still.
English Abstract
There have been much efforts to improve the performance of solar still, of which among them are cooling the cover glass, improving the absorptiveness of collector plate, addition of one heat recovery chamber and so forth. The research aims at finding out the influence of adding the heat recovery chamber with variation on condensation wall distance towards productivity and efficiency of solar still. In this research, the addition of two heat recovery chamber was done with variation on the condensation wall distance of 14 cm, 21 cm and 28 cm on the second heat recovery chamber. While, the distance on the first heat recovery chamber is 28 cm. The treatment given to the addition of two and three heat recovery chamber is without water cooling and with cooling on the condensation wall. The performance measured here is the productivity of the condensate water and efficiency of the solar still. The research result shows that the addition of two heat recovery chamber with the water cooling treatment give the productivity of condensate water of 4.66 L/m2 per day and the efficiency is 74.5% and the addition of three heat recovery chamber with water cooling treatment gives condensate water of 5.58 L/m2 per day and the efficiency is 78.7%. The researcher suggested adding more than three heat recovery chamber with the variation of condensation wall distance of 28 cm, 35 cm, and 42 cm in order to improve the productiveness and efficiency of the solar still.
