Abstract
Interaksi pasif siswa dan partisipasi yang relatif rendah adalah masalah utama di dalam kelas. Siswa juga memiliki waktu yang terbatas untuk menyelesaikan kompetensi dasar mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa terhadap penerapan strategi kelas terbalik yang digamifikasi menggunakan Edpuzzle untuk siswa tingkat sekolah menengah. Oleh karena itu, metode campuran sequential explanatory diterapkan. Kuesioner dengan 16 pertanyaan tertutup didistribusikan kepada 36 siswa di sekolah menengah atas di Malang pada tahun ajaran 2023/2024, dan 4 siswa diwawancarai menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data menunjukkan persepsi positif dan negatif siswa terhadap strategi kelas terbalik yang digamifikasi menggunakan Edpuzzle. Edpuzzle memberikan fleksibilitas bagi siswa untuk belajar dari mana saja, memungkinkan mereka memahami dasar-dasar materi sebelum pertemuan kelas tatap muka, menghemat waktu mereka untuk mempelajari materi, dan memberi mereka platform pembelajaran yang unik dan menarik. Sebaliknya, beberapa siswa menyatakan bahwa instruksi guru yang tidak jelas, kesulitan menyelesaikan tugas Edpuzzle di rumah karena kelelahan setelah seharian beraktivitas di sekolah, menghadapi tantangan dalam mengelola waktu, dan masalah koneksi internet menjadi kendala. Penting bagi guru untuk memahami semua konten dalam Edpuzzle dengan cermat dan selalu mencari konten video pembelajaran yang terkait dengan topik yang sedang dipelajari dengan durasi video tidak lebih dari 10 menit untuk mempertahankan rentang perhatian siswa. Penelitian lebih lanjut juga dapat mengeksplorasi pandangan dan pengalaman guru dalam menerapkan Edpuzzle serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor kunci yang mempengaruhi penerimaan dan efektivitas penggunaan Edpuzzle.
English Abstract
Students' passive interaction and relatively low engaging participation are primary issues in the classroom. Students also have a limited time to complete their basic competencies. The study aims to know the learners' perceptions toward implementing a gamified flipped classroom strategy using Edpuzzle for secondary school-level students. Therefore, an explanatory sequential mixed method was implemented. A questionnaire with 16 close-ended questions was distributed to 36 students in the upper secondary level school in Malang in the 2023/2024 academic year, and 4 students were interviewed from purposive sampling technique. The data shows students' positive and negative perceptions of the gamified flipped classroom strategy using Edpuzzle. Edpuzzle gives students the flexibility to learn from anywhere, allowing them to understand the basics of the material before an inperson class meeting, saving their time to study the materials, and leading them to acquire a unique and engaging learning platform. In contrast, others said unclear teacher instruction, difficulty completing Edpuzzle assignments at home due to fatigue after a day of activities at school, face challenges in managing time, and internet connection problems. It is important for teachers to understand all the contents in the Edpuzzle carefully and always look for learning video content related to the topic being studied with a video duration of no more than 10 minutes to maintain students’ attention span. Further research can also explore teachers' views and experiences in implementing Edpuzzle and identify the key factors that influence the acceptance and effectiveness of using Edpuzzle
