Abstract

Mendengarkan adalah keterampilan yang penting untuk dipelajari karena membantu pelajar meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris mereka yang lain. Pemahaman mendengarkan adalah sebuah proses, proses yang sangat kompleks, dan jika kita ingin mengukurnya, kita harus terlebih dahulu memahami cara kerja proses tersebut. Oleh karena itu, perlu diketahui strategi guru dalam mengajar mendengarkan di tingkat sekolah dasar di Bimbel S-Class. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu dan pegumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasiHasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi guru dalam mengajar listening terdiri dari dua strategi, yaitu mendengarkan lagu anak kemudian melaksanakannya dan bermain permainan. Kedua strategi ini selalu digunakan dalam setiap pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan. Selain itu kedua metode yang digunakan dalam proses pengajaran listening dapat memberikan dampak positif terhadap kemampuan anak. Namun, beberapa kendala yang dialami guru dalam pengajaran mendengarkan di Bimbel S-Class berasal dari siswa itu sendiri dan media yang digunakan. Dalam hal ini siswa masih kurang fokus dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Selain itu, karena metode yang digunakan guru menggunakan audio atau lagu, siswa menjadi sulit fokus belajar karena saat audio dinyalakan, siswa saling mengejek dan berbicara dengan temannya. Selain itu, jika siswa diminta membentuk kelompok tetapi kelompoknya tidak sesuai maka siswa cenderung protes. Saran dari penelitian ini yaitu Guru di Bimbel SClass diharapkan dapat memilih berbagai macam permainan untuk diterapkan selama proses belajar mengajar dan mampu mengoptimalkan sikap siswa dalam bekerja sama dan bersosialisasi dengan baik sehingga dapat berteman dan berkolaborasi dengan siapapun yang ada di kelas.

English Abstract

Listening is an important skill to learn because it helps students improve their other English language skills. Listening comprehension is a very complex process so when we want to measure it you need to understand how the process works. Therefore, it is necessary to know the teacher's strategy in teaching listening at the elementary school level in Tutor SClass. The research method used is data collection through interviews, observation and documentation. The research results show that the teacher's strategy in teaching listening consists of two strategies, namely the method of listening to children's songs then implementing them and playing games. These two strategies are always used in every lesson carried out. Furthermore, the two strategies used in the listening teaching process can have a positive impact on children's abilities. However, some of the obstacles experienced by teachers in teaching listening in Bimbel SClass come from the students themselves and the media used. In this case, students still lack focus in participating in learning. Furthermore, because the method used by the teacher uses audio or songs, it becomes difficult for students to focus on learning because when the audio is turned on, students make fun of each other and talk to their friends. Furthermore, if students are asked to form groups but the groups are not appropriate then students tend to protest. The suggestion from this research is that teachers in Tutoring S-Class are expected to be able to choose various kinds of games to apply during the teaching and learning process and be able to optimize students' attitudes in working together and socializing well so that they can make friends and collaborate with anyone in the class.
