Abstract
Adopsi e-commerce dapat dimanfaatkan oleh para petani untuk dapat mendukung kegiatan jual beli produk yang petani hasilkan. Adopsi ini telah banyak dilakukan di negara maju juga mulai diterapkan di negara berkembang seperti Indonesia. Pengadopsian ini dibutuhkan dimana melihat kondisi pertanian Indonesia yang memiliki masalah dengan harga produk pertanian yang cenderung rendah (Ningtyas et al., 2023). Pengaruh adanya adopsi teknologi digital seperti ecommerce ini membawa dampak pada profitabilitas berdasarkan semakin luasnya jangkauan kepada konsumen akan produk yang ditawarkan, meningkatnya loyalitas pelanggan juga frekuensi pembelian ulang, pengurangan berbagai biaya seperti tenaga kerja, transportasi, dan lain sebagainya (Prabandari & Handrito, 2022). Adopsi e-commerce terhadap profitabilitas pada sektor pertanian khususnya petani kecil masih relatif jarang dilakukan pada negara berkembang seperti Indonesia terkhusus pada komoditas buah-buahan yakni melon. Mengingat digitalisasi di sektor pertanian semakin pesat maka perlu dilakukan penelitian ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yakni mendeskripsikan profitabilitas usaha pada petani melon di Kabupaten Blitar, menganalisis faktor yang mempengaruhi adopsi e-commerce dan profitabilitas pada petani melon di Kabupaten Blitar, dan mengetahui pengaruh adopsi e-commerce terhadap profitabilitas usaha pada petani melon di Kabupaten Blitar. Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai masingmasing tujuan secara berurutan yakni Net Income, Analisis Logit, dan PSM atau Propensity Score Matching. Penentuan responden yakni 123 petani greenhouse melon dan 27 petani non greenhouse melon dengan metode simple random sampling. Kriteria responden yakni berfokus pada petani melon Kecamatan Wates Kabupaten Blitar. Variabel independen pada penelitian ini yakni adopsi ecommerce serta pada variabel kontrol meliputi usia, transportasi publik, tipe irigasi, pengalaman bertani, luas lahan, kesiapan teknologi, sistem tanam, pasar mingguan, keanggotaan kelompok tani, dan keanggotaan kelomok pemasaran.ii Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian yang dilakukan yakni profitabilitas petani melon Kecamatan Wates Kabupaten Blitar dalam tingkat yang baik berdasarkan hasil perhitungan net income dan membandingkan dengan upah minimum daerah setempat. Lalu terdapat beberapa faktor memiliki pengaruh signifikan berdasarka nilai p value dalam uji logit yakni pada adopsi e-commerce diantaranya usia, luas lahan, jarak dengan pasar mingguan, dan keanggotaan kelompok tani. Adopsi e-commerce memiliki pengaruh positif signifikan pada profitabilitas petani berdasarkan hasil t-stat dalam uji PSM. Setelah dilakukannya penelitan ini, diharapkan petani dan pemerintah setempat memperhatikan faktor usia, luas lahan, jarak dengan pasar, dan keikutsertaan dalam kelompok tani. Faktor-faktor ini akan mendukung proses adopsi e-commerce yang nantinya akan meningkatkan profitabilitas petani tersebut. Upaya lain yang dapat dilakukan yakni membentuk kelompok tani yang efektif dalam menjangkau banyaknya petani muda serta pelaksanaan sharing discussion akan pentingnya adopsi e-commerce terlebih pada petani yang memiliki lahan yang luas dan dapat melakukan pengoptimalan lokasi yang strategis.
English Abstract
The adoption of e-commerce can be utilized by farmers to be able to support the buying and selling of products that farmers produce. This adoption has been widely practiced in developed countries and is also starting to be applied in developing countries such as Indonesia. This adoption is needed where looking at the condition of Indonesian agriculture which has problems with the prices of agricultural products that tend to be low (Ningtyas et al., 2023). The effect of the adoption of digital technology such as e-commerce has an impact on profitability based on the wider reach to consumers of the products offered, increasing customer loyalty as well as the frequency of repeat purchases, reducing various costs such as labor, transportation, and so on (Prabandari & Handrito, 2022). The adoption of e-commerce to profitability in the agricultural sector, especially small farmers, is still relatively rare in developing countries such as Indonesia, especially in fruit commodities, namely melons. Given the rapid digitalization in the agricultural sector, it is necessary to conduct this research. The objectives of this study are to describe the business profitability of melon farmers in Blitar Regency, analyze the factors that influence e-commerce adoption and profitability of melon farmers in Blitar Regency, and determine the effect of e-commerce adoption on business profitability of melon farmers in Blitar Regency. The methods used to achieve each goal in order are Net Income, Logit Analysis, and PSM or Propensity Score Matching. The respondents were 123 greenhouse melon farmers and 27 non-greenhouse melon farmers using simple random sampling method. The criteria for respondents were focusing on melon farmers in Wates Subdistrict, Blitar Regency. The independent variable in this study is e-commerce adoption and the control variables include age, public transportation, irrigation type, farming experience, land area, technology readiness, planting system, weekly market, farmer group membership, and marketing group membership.iv The results obtained from the research conducted are that the profitability of melon farmers in Wates Subdistrict, Blitar Regency is at a good level based on the results of the calculation of net income and comparing with the local minimum wage. Then there are several factors that have a significant influence based on the p value in the logit test, namely on e-commerce adoption including age, land area, distance to weekly markets, and farmer group membership. E-commerce adoption has a significant positive effect on farmer profitability based on the t-stat results in the PSM test. After this research, it is expected that farmers and local governments pay attention to the factors of age, land area, distance to the market, and participation in farmer groups. These factors will support the e-commerce adoption process which will increase the profitability of these farmers. Efforts can be made to form farmer groups that are effective in reaching many young farmers and providing sharing of the importance of e-commerce adoption, especially for farmers who have large land areas and can optimize strategic locations.
