Abstract

Semakin hari kebutuhan energi berbasis fosil didunia pada saat ini ini khususnya di indonesia sangatlah besar. Oleh karena itu diperlukan penelitian tentang sumber energi baru guna menggantikan Sumber energi lama yang lambat laun akan habis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh variasi rasio kompresi dan penambahan ethanol pada bahan bakar solar terhadap emisi motor diesel yanmar. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan memvariasikan penambahan etanol pada solar dan variasi rasio kompresi. Variasi rasio kompresi mesinnya adalah 15,5:1; 17,5:1; dan 19,5:1. Untuk tiap variasi rasio kompresi,digunakan bahan bakar solar yang ditambahkan etanol dengan variasi kadar volume 7.5%, 10% dan 15%. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah, dengan meningkatnya kadar etanol pada campuran bahan bakar dan semakin tingginya rasio kompresi, emisi dari CO dan HC terbukti menurun. Didapatkan hasil terbaik pada konsentrasi etanol 7,5% dengan rasio kompresi 19,5:1, pada titik ini terjadi penurunan kandungan emisi CO sebesar 6,11% dan HC sebesar 5,3%. Kandungan CO2 yang dihasilkan juga semakin tinggi seiring meningkatnya konsentrasi etanol dan tingginya rasio kompresi..

English Abstract

Each day the need of energy made of fossil in the world now especially in Indonesia is very high. That is why research about new energy source is needed for replacing the old energy source that will be run out slowly. The purpose of this research is to know how the effect of compression ratio variations and adding ethanol on diesel fuel toward yanmar diesel motor emission. This research is conducted by vary the addition of ethanol on solar and compression ratio variations. The variations of compression ratio are 15.5:1; 17.5:1; and 19.5:1. For each variations of compression ratio, diesel fuel with added ethanol is used with variations of volume levels 7.5%, 10% and 15%. The result obtained is, with the increasing of ethanol level on mixed fuel and the higher ratio compression is, the emission of CO and HC are proven decline. The best result obtained on the 7.5% ethanol concentration with 19.5:1 compression ratio, at this point the declining from the emission content of 6.11% CO and 5.3% HC are occurred. The content of CO2 produced also higher together with the raising of ethanol concentration and highness of compression ratio.
