Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode experiential learning dalam mengoptimalkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi teks laporan hasil observasi. Selain itu, mendeskripsikan wujud/hasil serta kelebihan dari penerapan metode tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X.6. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui pengamatan langsung pada proses pembelajaran di kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode ini dapat mengoptimalkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari hasil belajar siswa yang mendapatkan nilai 90-100 berjumlah 18 siswa, yang mendapatkan nilai 80-89 berjumlah 9 siswa san yang mendapatkan nilai 70-79 berjumlah 8 siswa. Selain itu, wujud dari keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dapat dilihat dalam teks laporan hasil observasi yang dituangkan dalam bentuk poster. Siswa mampu menganalisis, mensintesis, memecahkan masalah, menyimpulkan dan mengevaluasi terhadap objek yang diamati. Siswa juga dapat mengambil deskripsi manfaat dari observasinya terhadap pohon pepaya, sampah plastik, kolam ikan, pohon apel dan tanaman anggrek untuk kehidupan sehari-hari.
English Abstract
This research aims to describe the application of experiential learning methods in optimizing students' critical thinking skills in observation report text material. Apart from that, it describes the manifestation/results and advantages of applying this method. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research approach. The subjects of this research were class X.6 students. This research data was obtained through direct observation of the learning process in the classroom. This research data collection technique uses observation, interview and documentation techniques. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research indicate that the application of this method can optimize students' critical thinking skills. This is shown by the learning results of 18 students who got a score of 90-100, 9 students who got a score of 80-89 and 8 students who got a score of 70-79. Apart from that, the manifestation of students' critical thinking skills can be seen in the text of the observation report which is presented in the form of a poster. Students are able to analyze, synthesize, solve problems, conclude and evaluate the objects observed. Students can also draw descriptions of the benefits from their observations of papaya trees, plastic waste, fish ponds, apple trees and orchids for everyday life.
