Abstract
Peneliti membahas bagaimana proses penerapan visual effects pada film pendek Dyingline. Penelitian ini berusaha untuk menjawab permasalahan terkait editing visual effects yang sangat penting dalam sebuah film untuk membangun visual yang diinginkan sutradara secara aman. Untuk melakukan penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan dasar observasi partisipasi dan dokumentasi. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan hasil sebagai berikut: (1) Proses penerapan Visual Effects dimulai sejak pra produksi, produksi, hingga pasca produksi. (2) Proses penerapan Visual effects menggunakan 2 software utama yaitu Blender dan After effects. (3) VFX Artist menggunakan workflow editing seperti Research & Development (R&D), Storyboarding, pre-visualization, 3D modeling, Reference Photography, Rigging and Animating, Motion Tracking/ match moving, texturing, lighting and rendering, compositing
English Abstract
The researchers discuss the process of applying visual effects in the short film "Dyingline." This study aims to address issues related to visual effects editing, which is crucial in a film to safely achieve the director's desired visuals. To conduct this research, the authors used qualitative research methods based on participatory observation and documentation. The findings of the study are as follows: (1) The process of applying visual effects begins in pre-production, continues through production, and concludes in post-production. (2) The visual effects application process utilizes two main software programs: Blender and After Effects. (3) The VFX artist follows an editing workflow that includes Research & Development (R&D), Storyboarding, Pre-Visualization, 3D Modeling, Reference Photography, Rigging and Animating, Motion Tracking/Match Moving, Texturing, Lighting and Rendering, and Compositing
