Abstract

Endapan epithermal low-sulfidation (LS) merupakan salah satu endapan yang banyak mengandung mineral logam ekonomis. Salah satu mineral logam ekonomis tersebut adalah Au (aurum) atau emas yang terdapat di bawah permukaan. Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara dengan produksi emas terbesar di dunia karena keterdapatan cadangan mineral emas yang cukup melimpah. Kepulauan Halmahera merupakan salah satu daerah yang sudah banyak diketahui sebagai terjadinya endapan epithermal LS. Metode induced polarization (IP) diterapkan kepada delapan lintasan pada lapangan ‘Timberlake’ dengan arah lintasan barat-timur untuk mencari daerah yang diduga sebagai zona mineralisasi emas.

English Abstract

Epithermal low-sulfidation (LS) is one of the deposits that contains a lot of metal and economic minerals. One of those minerals is Au (aurum), or gold, which could be found beneath the surface. Indonesia is one of the countries with the largest gold production in the world because of its abundant gold mineral reserves. Halmahera Islands is one of the areas widely known for the occurrence of epithermal LS deposits. The induced polarization (IP) method was applied to the eight lines of the ‘Timberlake’ fields with a west-east line trajectory to find an area suspected to be a gold mineralization zone.
