Abstract

Sebagai pelajar, siswa seringkali merasakan takut akan gagal terutama dalam menjalankan proses akademik, namun terdapat peran dukungan sosial dari relasi di lingkungan sekitarnya salah satunya ialah relasi guru dengan siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran student-teacher relationship terhadap fear of failure pada siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan melibatkan 209 responden yang diperoleh melalui metode accidental sampling dengan kriteria siswa/i SMA aktif dari kelas 10 hingga 12. Student-teacher relationship diukur dengan menggunakan skala TeacherStudent Relationship Inventory Student’s Version (S-TSRI), sedangkan fear of failure diukur dengan menggunakan skala Fear of Failure Inventory (PFAI). Uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik analisis regresi linear sederhana (simple regression). Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan regresi linear sederhana diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0.000 (< 0.05) dan koefisien regresi bernilai positif. Artinya, terdapat peran student-teacher relationship terhadap fear of failure pada siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) dimana semakin tinggi student-teacher relationship Studentteacher relationship maka semakin tinggi fear of failure siswa.

English Abstract

As students, students often feel afraid of failure, especially in carrying out the academic process, but there is a role for social support from relationships in the surrounding environment, one of which is the relationship between teachers and students. The purpose of this research is to determine the role student-teacher relationship to fear of failure in high school (SMA) students. This research uses a quantitative method involving 209 respondents obtained through the method accidental sampling with the criteria of active high school students from grades 10 to 12. Student-teacher relationship measured using a scale Teacher-Student Relationship Inventory Student’s Version (S-TSRI), whereas fear of failure measured using a scaleFear of Failure Inventory (PFAI). Hypothesis testing is carried out using simple linear regression analysis techniques (simple regression). The results of hypothesis testing using simple linear regression obtained a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05) and the regression coefficient was positive. This means there is a role student-teacher relationship to fear of failure in high school (SMA) students where it is getting higher student-teacher relationship Student-teacher relationship then it gets higher fear of failure student.
