Abstract

Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Pekalen dengan sungai utama Sungai Pekalen terletak di Kabupaten Probolinggo, Jawa Timur. DAS Pekalen memiliki luas DAS sebesar 21.240,4 ha atau sekitar 212,404 km2 . Bagian hulu DAS merupakan bagian yang sangat penting pada suatu ekosistem DAS, karena kerusakan lahan yang parah di bagian hulu menimbulkan permasalahan di daerah hilir. Seiring dengan pertambahan jumlah penduduk setiap tahunnya menyebabkan pembukaan lahan baru untuk pertanian juga semakin bertambah dikarenakan keterbatasan lahan yang tersedia. Hal tersebut dapat berindikasi pada terjadinya erosi apabila dilakukan tanpa memperhatikan kaidah konservasi tanah dan air. Analisa laju erosi dilakukan menggunakan Metode USLE dengan bantuan software ArcMap 10.4.1. Metode ini cocok digunakan di daerah dengan curah hujan dan limpasan permukaan sebagai sumber utama erosi. Pemanfaatan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) memungkinkan analisis zonasi potensi erosi berdasarkan teknik identifikasi daerah resapan, perhitungan laju erosi, sebaran Tingkat Bahaya Erosi (TBE) serta arahan penggunaan lahan di DAS Pekalen. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan, zonasi potensi erosi yang dilakukan berdasarkan teknik identifikasi daerah resapan dengan parameter yaitu curah hujan, jenis tanah, kemiringan lereng, tata guna lahan, serta potensi air tanah didapatkan kondisi daerah resapan baik, normal alami, mulai kritis, agak kritis, dan kritis. Semakin baik kondisi daerah tangkapan air maka semakin kecil risiko erosi yang terjadi dikarenakan laju infiltrasi yang besar mengurangi limpasan permukaan yang menjadi penyebab terjadinya erosi. Laju erosi pada DAS Pekalen terjadi sebesar 7,88 mm/Tahun atau sebesar 94,53 Ton/Ha/Tahun. Tingkat bahaya erosi dilakukan dengan membandingkan nilai laju erosi dengan kedalaman solum tanahnya. Semakin dangkal solum tanah dapat menyebabkan potensi erosi yang terjadi juga semakin tinggi. Hasil analisis dari tingkat bahaya erosi didapatkan 5 klasifikasi yaitu sangat ringan, ringan, sedang, berat, dan sangat berat. TBE di DAS Pekalen didominasi oleh kelas sedang dengan luas 7.896,24 Ha. Arahan penggunaan lahan baru di DAS Pekalen dilakukan dikarenakan laju erosi yang terjadi telah melebihi batas erosi yang diizinkan di Indonesia yaitu sebesar 2,5 mm/Tahun. Pertimbangan untuk menentukan tata guna lahan baru yaitu disesuaikan dengan fungsi kawasannya yaitu kawasan lindung, kawasan penyangga, dan kawasan budidaya. Setelah dilakukan arahan penggunaan lahan baru, laju erosi yang terjadi dapat tereduksi sebesar 73,87% dari laju erosi eksisting sebesar 7,88 mm/Tahun menjadi 2,06 mm/tahun dan mampu mereduksi tingkat bahaya erosi dengan klasifikasi sangat berat sebesar 92,79% dari kondisi eksisting yaitu sebesar 1.102,78 Ha menjadi 79,55 Ha

English Abstract

Pekalen Watershed (DAS) with the main river Pekalen River is located in Probolinggo Regency, East Java. Pekalen watershed has a watershed area of 21,240.4 ha or about 212.404 km2 . The upper part of the watershed is a very important part of a watershed ecosystem, because severe land damage in the upper part causes problems in the downstream area. Along with the increase in population every year, the opening of new land for agriculture is also increasing due to the limited land available. This can indicate the occurrence of erosion if done without paying attention to the rules of soil and water conservation. Erosion rate analysis was conducted using the USLE Method with the help of ArcMap 10.4.1 software. This method is suitable for use in areas with rainfall and surface runoff as the main sources of erosion. The utilization of Geographic Information System (GIS) enables the analysis of erosion potential zonation based on infiltration area identification techniques, erosion rate calculation, Erosion Hazard Level (TBE) distribution and land use direction in Pekalen watershed. Based on the analysis conducted, the zoning of erosion potential carried out based on the catchment identification technique with parameters namely rainfall, soil type, slope, land use, and groundwater potential obtained good catchment conditions, natural normal, starting to be critical, somewhat critical, and critical. The better the condition of the catchment area, the smaller the risk of erosion that occurs because a large infiltration rate reduces surface runoff which causes erosion. The erosion rate in Pekalen watershed was 7.88 mm/year or 94.53 tons/ha/year. The level of erosion hazard is done by comparing the value of the erosion rate with the depth of the soil solum. The shallower the soil solum, the higher the erosion potential. The results of the analysis of the level of erosion hazard obtained 5 classifications, namely very light, light, medium, heavy, and very heavy. TBE in Pekalen watershed is dominated by medium class with an area of 7,896.24 Ha. New land use direction in Pekalen watershed was conducted because the erosion rate that occurred has exceeded the permissible erosion limit in Indonesia which is 2.5 mm/year. Considerations for determining new land use are adjusted to the function of the area, namely protected areas, buffer areas, and cultivation areas. After the new land use direction, the erosion rate that occurs can be reduced by 73.87% from the existing erosion rate of 7.88 mm/year to 2.06 mm/year and is able to reduce the level of erosion hazard with a very severe classification of 92.79% from the existing condition of 1,102.78 Ha to 79.55 Ha.
