Abstract

Pengendalian mutu proses produksi kemasan kaleng sangat penting dilakukan dikarenakan berkaitan langsung dengan kualitas produk agar dapat bersaing dipasar dan diterima baik oleh konsumen. Saat ini masih ditemukan tingkat variabilitas parameter mutu proses produksi kemasan kaleng krimer kental manis PT X dalam mencapai spesifikasi yang telah ditetapkan, dimana nilai yang dihasilkan masih belum konsisten dan berada diluar batas spesifikasinya. Penelitian ini dilakukan di PT X yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui kapabilitas produksi kemasan kaleng krimer kental manis yaitu jenis Open Top Can khususnya Regular Can. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan adanya analisis proses produksi guna mengetahui apakah proses sudah memenuhi standar, Salah satunya dengan analisis kapabilitas proses. Analisis kapabilitas proses dilakukan pada data sekunder hasil pengujian mutu unit proses produksi kaleng yaitu parameter blank length, blank width, tebal welding, diameter badan kaleng, can height (necker), can height (flanger), can height (beader), seam thickness, seam width, body hook, cover hook, dan can height OTC pada bulan Maret-Agustus 2020. Analisis kapabilitas dilakukan menggunakan software Minitab 17. Indeks kapabilitas yang dihasilkan disusun dalam grafik tren indeks Pp dan Ppk dan diinterpretasikan. Faktor penyebab indeks kapabilitas rendah diidentifikasi menggunakan diagram sebab akibat atau juga disebut diagram tulang ikan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kapabilitas proses produksi kemasan Open Top Can (OTC) Regular Can tidak ada yang mampu kapabel untuk semua parameter unit prosesnya dikarenakan didapatkan nilai indeks yang berada dibawah angka 1. Rendahnya nilai kapabilitas disebabkan oleh variasi data yang terlalu lebar dan tidak terkontrol secara statistik. Hal tersebut diduga terjadi dikarenakan beberapa faktor yaitu perbedaan keahlian dan pengalaman operator, perbedaan persepsi pengecekan kualitas, spesifikasi yang terlalu sempit, trouble pada mesin, dan kualitas bahan baku yang tidak sesuai dengan spesifikasi.

English Abstract

Quality control of the canned packaging production process is very important because it is directly related to the quality of the product in order to compete in the market and be well received by consumers. Currently, there is still a level of variability in the quality parameters of the PT X sweetened condensed creamer can packaging production process in achieving predetermined specifications, where the resulting value is still not consistent and is outside the specification limits. This research was conducted at PT X which aims to determine the production capability of sweetened condensed creamer can packaging, namely the Open Top Can type, especially Regular Can. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the production process to find out whether the process meets the standards, one of which is the process capability analysis. Process capability analysis is carried out on secondary data from the quality testing results of the can production process unit, namely blank length, blank width, welding thickness, can body diameter, can height (necker), can height (flanger), can height (beader), seam thickness, seam width, body hook, cover hook, and can height OTC in March-August 2020. Capability analyses were conducted using Minitab 17 software. The resulting capability indices were arranged in Pp and Ppk index trend charts and interpreted. The factors causing the low capability index were identified using a cause and effect diagram or also called a fishbone diagram. Based on the results of the study, the capability of the production process of Open Top Can (OTC) Regular Can packaging is not capable of being capable for all parameters of the process unit because the index value is obtained which is below 1. The low capability value is caused by data variations that are too wide and not statistically controlled. This is thought to occur due to several factors, namely differences in operator expertise and experience, differences in perceptions of quality checking, specifications that are too narrow, machine trouble, and the quality of raw materials that do not match specifications.
